Then Johla better be a Bonegrinder UA. Damn.
But awesome. A 'grinder 'lock.

Once more Minions gets some of the most characterful casters, it makes me drool in anticipation of what Gators are going to get for a caster.
are we sure thats a new warlock? I know it would be bit much to hope for, but could that be Epic Carver?

If thats really the skull and spine of a warpwolf... HOW BIG IS THIS GUY. Looks like a bonegrinder caster.... hype **** man hype ****
My guess is that it's a Bonegrinder, judging by the carving knives on his belt and him looking like he's extracting energy from the bones of a Warbeast.
Rampant speculation time: Some kind of animus replicating/denying ability. Possibly the Awakening spell (Zaal). Perhaps Feralgeists in his tier list, and... OOH! OOH! Doc Killingsworth! I'd love to have that guy working with the pigs!

I would bet he was a bone grinder by the fact that he's carrying a back pack full of meat and bones. This guy looks awesome
Holy hell just had a thought.
What if he as the old Mk1 Bonegrinder stat stealing ability!!!!!
And possibly another Fury 7 Warlock? Pigs: Freakin' Magical!

Johla is (according to fluff) indeed a bonegrinder with a status in Carver's inner circle
But Johla is a female... I don't see that as being female he does look NASTY... and that's good

I was more thinking that Johla would be the next Warlock. I think others were, too. There goes my hopes of adding a blonde wig onto the model and having her followed around by a Croak Hunter with a banjo. Still, for me, if it's Farrow, it's already bought.![]()

Nice art.
So we've got a warlock from a cast of people that use bones and organs as magic fuel. Maybe stores corpse tokens as he goes and gets some kind of passive boost out of them. I could see using corpse tokens as fury but thats treading on the whole soul collecting turf.
Also can see him getting that fury eater thing Maelok has. Maybe get a free animus as well.
I don't see that as a female either, so it won't be Johla (especially since the tusks are not full of runes)... but as a Bonegrinder UA or a solo she might be good, too. But I guess the concept or a female farrow need some more work.
And Bonegrinders are more than just using death (beasts) for their power (and I think this one will definitly take that part), there are some more stuff there, so Johla as a warlock isn't out of question... but for now we get someone, who... don't know... have some really pointy teeth!![]()
"Throwing Farrow Brigands into a nasty infantry is not a sacrifice, but rather providing your opponent with bacon."
"Some idiot said, Barnabas will never ascend to godhood. After the battle, the same idiot stared at him and wimmered: Oh my god!"
death fueled warlock would be pretty ballin. corpse token interactions would be so cool, also let us get something from Legion beasts (dang soulless)
nom nom nom
Warpborn skinwalker and the size would be about right.
Floating runes around the hand. Dead give-away. Floaty runes near hands are pretty much the tell-tale sign of a warlock.
The figure: he has 2 knives, so likely two smaller attack but multiples. Definitely not eCarver and agreed that very bone-grindery. Maybe he gets to cast animus from dead enemy beasts? Twin weapons are often associated with assassination locks...but obvious corpse/caster associations.
[speculation]
The Background: That pile of bones is not just a pile...it looks like a collar (or cauldron) and chain is attached to it....which makes me want to think it is a new beast or a thing itself anyway. Might be a strap and torso armour seen under locks right side and maybe its rear under the left arm in red. Looks like grey or even wrinkly skin?
My Guess: Warlock with an attachment. The attachment is something that hauls around a massive cauldron of bones and can collect corpse tokens in a manner similar to Wurmwood's Altar of Sacrifice. All of that (if a hauled cauldron) makes me go to the Legion Spawning Vessel. So, I can imagine a Farrow Warlock with attachment that collects corpse tokens and uses them to power spells or abilities.
[/speculation]
Either way, 90% sure that's a warlock with a Mortitheurge theme
*Hysteric giggling follows* Squeeeee....ahem, I mean, Souieeeeee

This made my day, epic artwork, cannot wait to see the full picture!
"More Explosives Are You Insane!"
"You have no idea."
Looks like the warlocks just wearing a basket on his back to me. Have to wait for a closer picture to be sure.
Side note- Gargantuans will be 5-6 models for faction. Likely 3-3 pig gator split. Good times are a coming.
Hmmm, now that I look at it again with that in mind it does look like a huge urn strapped to his back. I think the 2-daggers made me assume both hands would be totally free.
Before I get too far ahead in my budget planning - do we even have a rough idea when the Gargant book will be coming through?

that just blew my head away. OMFG.
Definatly an urn/ harvest basket on his back. Thats a brutal knife he has as well. Really looks like hes drawing power from that dead skinwalker for a spell.
Looks like slaughterhousers on the sides there, so no hidden sneak peak of a new unit.
Love that knife he has. So very cool looking. Must resist pigs....
Makes me proud to play pigs. Can't wait!

Nice. Just wanna see what kind of unit/beasts we get, though, since that's more in my style and what I think the Farrow need more.
What if he or she can't tell anymore? With story saying its girl and the model looking like a male
Anyway caster gets stronger as it has more corpse tokens that would be great..............I love the bacon^_^
Thats gonna be a great model, someone earlier said it right that farrow warlocks are so,e of the best models PP make and this continues it!
I was gonna treat myself to a merc force when i get some paint sales come in but now i dont think i'll bother, we effectively get a new army with every caster at the mo... Pigs are still gonna be my only force for at least another year hehe
I am hoping for a new light beast in this book as well, to go along with our new warlock. I would really love something that is NOT a pig. I mean gators get swamp horrors and big ticked off turtles, so why can 't we get something that isn't a pig. Also the Brigands can use a UA.

Heathen! Where's my pitchfork? BBQ for you. Hehehe...I would really love something that is NOT a pig.
Thanks for the extended pic. Now that I see Slaughterhousers, I'm hoping for a SH support caster along with all the corpse collection themes we've been guessing at.
That dagger is absolutely brutal looking - low pow but weaponmaster or somesuch?
**EDIT**
So, I was pondering the association between SH and this warlock over supper.
Pretty much everyone unanimously agreed thus far that he will likely be a corpse/soul collector or at least interact in the dead in some way based on the pic. Even if total speculation, symbolism and themes matter. I think we are correct or at least on the right track.
BUT, Slaughterhousers RFP...meaning no token of any sort and no interacting with the dead...cause they're gone.
So IF this lock collects anything, he would pretty much need Slaughterhouser [elite cadre] as an ability or some rule to allows him to collect from SH kills. Thematically and fluff-wise a grinder lock with Slaughterhousers to carve up the dead makes perfect sense - just NO sense crunch-wise

A unlimated number of Bonegrinders would be amazing. Could run them around shooting lighting all over the place. The art is really nice for this guy and cannot wait to see his rules. I am sure that the model will look great, I have really liked the models pp has given us for Farrow, they always look better in hand. Atm really hoping that we get another light beast and a brigand attachment, however will just be happy with whatever they give us.
FA:U Bonegrinders would cause me to run like 10 units of them for no reason other then because.
I had a random thought during work. He uses corpse tokens like the coins from paymaster. Kinda him crafting things for his units.
A Elite Cadre bonus for Bone Grinders that give them a bonus on damage for the spell-attack equal to the to-hit bonus would be amazing.
Or maybe one that lets you split the bonus up between attack rolls & damage.
I just had a thought about this myself. What if he makes Bonegrinders like the Druids or Mittens, they each get to make a magic attack instead of just the leader. That would make them sooo good for the points.

pStryker 1-0
Which is exactly why that almost certainly isn't going to happen![]()
Anyway, I find it odd that we have a few people saying it's the skull of a Skinwalker. I mean, the OP has a quote of a PP staffer stating that it's a Warpwolf, and while that does indicate that this fellow is on the large side, it makes sense. I don't know of any ability Bone Grinders have that draws on the power of Skinwalkers, but we do know that they have strong connections to Warbeasts. It seems far more likely that we're seeing him draining power from the corpse of a Warpwolf.
Anyway, I'm a tad disappointed that it doesn't seem that we're seeing Johla as a Warlock anytime soon. Her short appearance in the Minions book rather endeared her to me. However, we are at least getting a Bone Grinder Warlock, so that's all of the Farrow's main bases covered (a Chieftain/Warrior, a mad Doctor, a mad Doctor's creation, and now the traditional Shaman). Now I just hope we get some kind of unaugmented light Warbeast. While I love Arkadius's twisted creations, I'm rather hoping for a glimpse of the pre-Arkadius Farrow Warbeasts. At the moment we only have the Gun Boar, and I'd like to see the melee equivalent (the Minion books even mentions Carver sending monstrous Farrow rampaging across the battlefield before he even met Arkadius, so hopefully we'll see some of them turn up as lights).
It will be interesting to see how this guy's abilities pan out. With the Slaughterhousers and Brine's animus both denying Corpse/Soul tokens, the Thornfall Alliance would be an odd place to stick a Warlock that runs off either of those mechanics, or indeed, one with any significant ability that triggers on "destroyed". I look forward to seeing what PP comes up with. Hopefully it won't be anything with too much in the way of Skornergy![]()
This guy definitely makes up for the wait for the Road Hog.
