Default Is it worth taking Eiryss to a Tournament?

    Hi fellow believers,

I am currently in preparation mode for my first 35 point tournament. Im not that good and I havent played nearly enough but Im not letting that stop me as the group are local and the entry is restricted to their friends, so it shouldnt be too devastating.

However I digress, I have been working out what list to take and deciding whether its worth taking my newly acquired PEiryss model. By this point I would have assumed that people would be smart to the ranged assassin model so figured I would ask the opinion of my betters.

So in your opinion is it worth taking her for 3 points? Its quite an investment if she is going to be shut down too easy. I am planning to take pKreoss and can put up the list if necessary but its more of a high level theoretical question.

    Cheers

Ye she is really good, what you need to watch out for is to not let her get within 5" of your jacks otherwise her activation ends, this seems like an obvious thing but something always forget.
I usually play her as a defensive piece disrupting enemy jacks, she also our only way i think to disrupt a jack

I would say that pEiryss isnt worth taking to a tournie but eEiryss definately is. For three points you expect an amazing model which will be usefull in most match ups not juts against warmachine factions.

eEiryss gets rid of upkeeps and animi...
She has a very nice 19" threat range Eiryss bomb
    She can snipe

pEiryss is only worth it vs warmachine factions.
Focus strip is very good but if your opponent allows you to get a free shot off vs his caster without and defensive buffs he/she has done something wrong so dont count on it

I always run eEiryss with pSevvy for stripping upkeeps and animi.
My second list also has purification and my third is just an oddball

pEiryss goes well with pkreoss because you can use her after a knockdown to ensure a caster has no focus and is pretty much out of the game until the next round.

However, I find it hard to protect her. And she isn't great against hordes.

eEiryss isn't all that useful in a pkreoss list either unfortunately.

eEiryss blows away focus just as well as pEiryss, she just doesn't stop replenishment on the following turn.

Generally worth taking if one of your casters can't nuke upkeeps. Sometimes you really need that Arcane Shield to go away.

If you are running pKreoss, eEyriss is redundant as he has purification anyways... To the original question, i find pEyriss is nice to use as jack control, against factions that don't have easy ways to get rid of disruption, and also jsut because she has AD on her card doesn't mean she needs to hit the enemy lines first. Phantom bolt to take out support or deathbolt for damaging high arm targets are pretty good options to have. You can also flank with her to get in the backfield and take out key support pieces while having that potential threat on a caster waiting at all times. She can be a major distraction piece, which is often jsut as good as killing stuff if it throws people off there games.

I think pEyriss takes way more finesse to use right compared to point and shoot eEyriss does, which beyond her upkeep removal and suicidal run doesn't really take alot of skill to use.

Play her and have fun if she does cool stuff great, but jsut be prepared for older players to nuke her fast as a hold over from MK1 when she was really bonkers, and for that occasional AOE to jsut take her out..

pEiyrss in a pKreoss list is a great solo hunter and if you can get the shot on an opposing warcaster it's pretty much game over. Against warlocks, she is not as useful, but she can do 3 points to em or solo hunt.

Like darisus said, just because she has advance deploy does not mean that she should be running up front. The games where I leave her back for a turn, or even 2 turns, and then move her up to get into the action is where I have had much more luck with her.

She takes some practice to use well, so I might not suggest taking her for your first tourney if you haven't played with her much. But for future tourneys once you and she have gotten to know eachother a little more intimately, I think at least one version of her will be in most of your tournament lists.

I run her in my vindictus list. Something I love doing is putting Def Ward up on some Daughters, then running them into melee with 'jacks, and running eiryss in behind them, so that the 'jacks can't be allocated focus (and can't trample out or boost attack rolls or anything). I once stuffed (or 'jammed' I guess it's called) an entire Harkevich battlegroup this way.
