I am, very slightly, mind you dissapointed by the revelation that I wouldn't get to do the coven's activate through out the turn shenanigans since they are a unit.

I also actually wonder if Grim can die and I can continue playing with the pygs as my caster.

I really like the idea of epic grim and his pyg sidekicks. To me it looks like one of them has shotgun (pow 8 spr 8) and the second one has grim's knowdown-gun.

For reference to the Warlock Unit thing, Lost Hemisphere has the PP Panel uploaded, and they call this (and Makeda) a Warlock Unit, saying it's a model type that Hordes is getting before Warmachine.

That will always be true for any new model, until you see the rules there's always a chance that it'll be garbage or it'll be awesome. Grim1 is pretty darn good, expecting something much better isn't realistic, however I expect him to work on the same lines.

He's good, he's far from too good. His playstyle is pretty unique to trolls and pretty fresh to Hordes in general. It takes a lot of time to learn how you should really play him, but for me, personally, he is incredibly good fun. I just hope Grim2 is fun to play and not instant throw away. This seems reasonable to me and I expect it to happen. My current biggest concern is the model, so far the WIP looks good.

Plus, I see him buffing a number of units I don't much care for.

Then don't use him as your main warlock.

I sometimes think that Trollblood players have Stockholm syndrome, Grim is a strong caster, but on what planet is he too good with crap like eGaspy, pHaley, Terminus, Irusk and casters of that tier running around?

I agree that pGrim is one of OUR bests, but in the grand scheme of casters, he's a good caster but he's nowhere near Overpowered, I just listed a bunch of casters off my head that are stronger than Grim, hell at the very least 90% of the Cryxian casters are at Grims level if not stronger, he's just a strong counter to their shenanigans.

My point being that I'm not so certain that eGrim is going to get a downgrade, unless eGrissel is an example of the design trend for our epic casters relative to their original forms, in which case yes eGrim will be completely worthless.

I feel like the super-size backpack is a bit much. I mean, he has a pair of lackeys to wander around with him, and presumably Grissel or whoever puts him in charge of a small army complete with logistics and support people, but Grim still insists on carrying his own bedroll? I mean really...

I do have one tiny quibble, which is that I think I'm going to have to convert him from the concept art pose (which is all like "yeah, I could shoot ya, but I'm just hanging out at the mo") to the full-colour art pose, which is all spell casty about to blasty doom-bringing awesomeness. Another case of the art being slightly better than the model. Hopefully an easy conversion, from what I've seen of the sculpt.
