I'll take MAT 5, just hoping not RAT 4.
i'm hoping for pow 18 on the cannons with 4 aoe 4" shots so i can carpet hi def infantry
Please take the time to look at my painting plog

just based on the mountain king I think it's gonna be safe to say we'll be getting a RAT:4, it's pretty much a Skorne standard.
hmm...
SPD: 4
Mat: 6 (we dont have Amuck on him, pluses to now bring a Rhinodon)
Rat: 4
Def: 10 (I think I'm being overly optimistic here)
Arm: 19-21 (19 being standard Titan armor, 21 being a Sentry with Shield. This is a safe bet)
I could see us getting one with this. I've left off the STR simply because it's not a reliable gauge of the melee pow. For that I'd go pow: 17-19 (closer to the low end) with two arms and of course the Tusks (which finally have REACH!).
The gun. Rng: 12 RoF: 1 AOE: 4 Pow: 14- 16. Basing it off the Seige-Layer gun. We'll be paying a premium because we can boost.
This is just based on supposition and the min I'd be happy with. Gotta love random speculation time.
Uniherd. Everything else is just My LiL Pony's.
Don't forget to add in the Snipe tax.
Xerxis does not go "Epic". Epic goes "Xerxis".
I'll be astonished if the Mammoth has anything higher than RAT 4. I think with FOUR cannons on his back, the intent here will be a fusilade of infantry clearing mayhem. Probably RNG 8-10 (Snipe tax), POW 16, AOE 3. Though low DEF enemy jacks won't be a huge fan, either.
I think it will likely be MAT 5, with a disgusting P+S in the 18-19 range.
ARM 19, I'm guessing.
Subdue. They really wanted us to have that in the field test(moved it between 2 or 3 beasts IIRC), and its huge base size makes delivering it to an appreciable amount of the enemy more feasible. Whether or not we'd want the Mammoth that close to the threats remains to be seen.
Yeah, I'm with you on Makeda3. I was really looking forward to a cohort of Ferox, but those AGs in her artwork look pretty awesome. I'm hoping they'll get SPD 5, as they look pretty lithe compared to the standard AG, or have some way for her to increase from SPD 4 anyways. That would be in keeping with her increased mobility theme from both her previous incarnations.
Regarding the Mammoth, when the name was spoiled I thought to myself "man, I hope it's not just a big titan with some guns strapped to its back." Then when the artwork was spoiled... I found myself actually pretty excited for it. Weird! I guess the lesson here is that I don't always know what I really want =P.
Oh please not Subdue XD.
Well, ok, you're right. If we have to end up with that animus, at least it'll be able to affect more of the battlefield on a huge base.
*grumble grumble*

Maybe Mammoth's gun will have an upgraded version of Gorten and Carver's gun ability: ALL 4 BARRELS! Boomboomboom

Skorne on date ... when did Primal Mk I hit again?
Heheheh, that'd be like a POW 24 shot or something =). I'm looking forward to unleashing all four shots at infantry at close range, to minimize the possible scatter. Oh, and Far Strike will be fun for some early-game bombardment. Karax will probably fit nicely with him, so you can toss AOEs right on top of them with impunity, and you probably won't be able to fit much else in with him XD.

actually, i believe thatd be boomboomboomboom... short changing yourself a boom there. =PBoomboomboom
im stoked for both models. granted i think the mammoth could have been so much more, but two huge fists and a massive cannon should prove to be devastating. and whatever the hell is up with makeda and her little entourage will be interesting too.
To be honest, I'm still not entirely at peace with the whole idea of the Mammoth just being an embiggened Titan with a tail. I really love the whole idea of the Skorne stable of warbeasts being a menagerie of prehistoric nasties from across the empire, and was hoping this guy would be a big, awesome, unique nasty like the SA turned out to be (with the exception of it being one that I'd want to use, I mean. heh).
I will, of course, modify it, as I cannot be bothered to tolerate a default pose. But how? Maybe a woolly coat...

That is crazy talk! Crazy crazy crazy talk!!!
I don't think it is fair to say the Mammoth is just a giant titan per se. That is like saying the T-rex is just a giant velociraptor. Ihave no problem with the mammoth as is, and I bet the model will be sweet. I don't have huge hopes for the rules, but i know the mammoth will have a spot in the army.

I'd think multi-fire as seen on quadirons would be more likely. That sort of balances itself even on high pow guns since it requires hits to continue, ie. boosting with what will at most be RAT5. Could get pretty silly against KD'd targets though, so maybe it'll just be a barrage type attack with one big AOE.
I just hope it is better than the Animantarax.. Not asking for much am I?

Omg we have a brumak!!!!
I am so glad its a titan and not a freaking dinosaur. I hate, hate, hate the dino look for Skorne.
I was actually pretty sad at first, to hear it was basically a giant titan. But the closer I look at the concept art, things like the "head shield", tail and horn make it just different enough, and close enough to the established "Mammoth". It's still a giant titan, but it's not *just* a giant titan, and the concept art looks pretty rad. Definitely excited about it now, not to mentioned Makeda3 - the concept of a warlock unit is intriguing... just hope they are released at GenCon and I can find a ninja shopper.

Okay so, all these huge base colossals/gargantuans seem to be aimed at infantry. My 2 cents on that. None have been very impressive including cygnar's, for 4 cents.
I searched subdue on battlecollege since I haven't ever seen it before.
If it is still this, then I wouldn't mind it as much. It might be a reason to actually buy the guy. I am not betting that I will buy him. I wouldn't pay for conquest either. Regardless of how cool a model looks, I won't buy him unless he does something better than what I already have, or does something different. I will leave you with that 10 cents. Oo
Animus - Subdue
Of all the animi of all the boxed set warbeasts I think this is one of the most powerful. Not only for the ability to suppress charges, but for the ability to shut down the ability of warriors to give or receive orders, and knock out Special Attacks. The Khadoran Devastator proves the power of this. While subdued a Devastator has only its high armor and a pair of fists. Since a warlock can cast this as a spell it allows your warlock to get in close to certain enemy models without risking immediate death.
It looks alot like a Triceratops.
Xerxis does not go "Epic". Epic goes "Xerxis".

After determining the point of impact of the initial shot deviate 3 more 3" AOEs from that point. Models in the additional AOEs suffer a POW 8 blast damage roll.
I think what I just came up with is very boring and won't happen because the POWs are too high especially with pain givers.
Read Subdue again, it does absolutely nothing if the enemy model doesn't activate within 5"; practically speaking that makes it extraordinarily difficult to catch anything in the effect. When the Gladiator had it buying two more attacks was always the better play, I never found a reason to cast it in all of Mk I and I doubt very much I'm alone in that.
The above is my personal opinion, and in no way should be taken as representative of the overall Skorne community. Even when I claim otherwise.
Skorne on date ... when did Primal Mk I hit again?
aww crap, not Subdue again?
I remember the ****storm when they tried to foist this on us last time.
Unless they change it to something like Polarity Field or (at least) Command Range I wont be casting it anytime soon.
Uniherd. Everything else is just My LiL Pony's.
I just noticed while looking at the Mountain King that it had. I think it would be great if all the Gargantauns had Terror.
Enemy Infantry: Charge!
Enemy Infantry: Run Away!
i honestly would hope so. i may not be scared after the first couple times i see a regular titan, but that huge mammoth? id probably never get used to the sight of it and always **** myself when i see it lumber over the hills...
Subdue is good strong denial effect, its just the details for making it work that keep making it crap.
"Subdue- When an enemy model begins its activation within 5˝ of this model, it cannot charge or make special attacks for one round"
Changing the RNG to target model within 6" instead of SELF makes it nicer.
Changing it to "Enemy model/unit" makes it real good.
Breaking it into two effects(begin within 5" no charge, while within 5" no special attacks) makes it more attractive.
Increasing the AOE to CMD makes it better(though perhaps too good on a Makeda or Xerxis like front liner).
But this is all idle speculation so lets not spend a lot of time complaining about something that, hopefully, we'll never see again.
Untrue! I used it... err... once ;-).
And Rynth is right, the details were really what made it a bit stinky at a cost of 2. If the special attack portion were while within, that would be a big improvement. I could get on board with something like Wailing on the Banshee, while within 5" of this model enemy models cannot give or receive orders or cast spells. That way if you could catch a unit leader in the effect, the whole unit would be unable to charge.
It doesn't need a whole lot to make it work, really. Hopefully if we do get it (and I can see us getting it), it will be in a slightly modified form.

Well the big darn beast has some great tusks. I'm hoping those things have super reach like the Kraken and I hope it will be able to sweep with them. Maybe it will be able to slam multiple models touching it's base. I obviously can't know for sure but the special rules for tusks are already quite lovely on a large based model.
Sweep seems to be a generic Colossal/Gargantuan rule, so I think we are in luck there. It may be limited to weapons with a FoF though, so maybe the sweep will only be available on the R+L fists.
The internet grants me.
