Y'know, I was disappointed when I found out our new 'Lock was a Deep One instead of another 'Gator since I'm all about the swamp-born crocodilians.
The artwork may have change my mind.
Time to bring the pain in the name of Father Dagon.

That artworks has me so happy I have a full unit of Bogs I use all the time! More swamp and looks like more zombies too!
This has me really excited too! Both because of the addition of more Undead for Maelok to synergize off his feat and over all theme of course. Also, I am not a fan of bog trogs, (I have not used them, but might just buy some now to try them out), but this guy's art looks really cool. It seems to me that he is sucking power from these bog trogs and using it to power his spells.
He definitely has a mean looking harpoon gun (with more harpoons on his back) that may pull people in, but I hope not. Small based casters do not get much use out of the pull mechanic as they can only equal or smaller based models. Hopefully it will mesh with his style and do something cool.
I am hoping for these hordes zombie trogs to have dark shroud, this would help gators immensely with their armor cracking issue.
Bog Trogs are probably my least favorite part of Blindwater, so I'm mildly disappointed with this warlock. The shamblers are pretty cool, it fits the theme of the gatormen enslaving the trogs, but I have a hard time imagining posses of gatormen following a bog trog into battle, no matter how powerful. And it kind of violates the fluff of gatorman warlocks being the only ones capable of controlling the reptilian swamp beasts.
I'll get over it, buy the warlock, and learn to love him, but I would have preferred more gators, personally. Ah well.
Actually this was my first reaction, but that faded pretty quickly. The artwork really helped with that, it is pretty sweet. I figure that if gators are only supposed to control the beasts, they might be shocked enough into following a bog trog that is suddenly showing this ability. And I don't think Barnabas would really care about him being in the Congregation as long as it's helping him to reach godhood.

Well its not exactly out of the question that a tribe of bogtrogs willingly joined the Congregation for special considerations. Not to mention that Bogtrogs can and have killed Gatormen (note the trog unit leader wearing a gator for a hat) so they obviously have a bit of badass in the,. It could be something a bit similar to Kromac. Why waste a weapon.
5 Internets to the man who buys a Bruins jersey with Rasks name on it.
Random thought, Black Spot would be a cool spell on Rask.
do we really need more infantry clearing right now? how about a paingiver taskmaster, or give rask last stand. it would fit the theme of sacking our own troops and reviving. then lets get zaals feat as well. i would buy rask immediately. oh and can we get a kovaas as well?
I would like to see more gatormen type units personally. give me more crocs

I have been reading the Monsternomican book, and there is a character in there called the Old Man of the Swamp, and he can control Swamp Shamblers, according to the text. He has a draining touch - I wonder if this will be the controlling character hinted at in some of the forums - the witch doctor type character?
well gatormen though, everyone calls them crocs.

Same. Anyone who calls them Crocs needs to go back and relearn that there are major differences in both anatomy(for example, different snout and body shapes as well as a difference in which teeth show when mouth is closed) and physiology(ie., Gator's can't live in salt water, Crocodiles can).
Just because they're both classed as crocodilia doesn't mean they're the same. They're not even the same family(Alligatoridae vs Crocodylidae)!

so croctober should have been called gatortober then, however that doesnt work hence croctober and crocs. and if they are both classed as crocodilia then then can both be called crocs then
i do know the difference i just prefer crocs to gators

For what it's worth I call them gators as well. And if anyone cares I call the bog trogs.....trogs.....or fish people. But mostly trogs.

Give me more bog trog zombieness. His artwork looks awesome.
I play Khador, Minions, and soon to be Convergence of Cyriss.
Is it just me or is gators the most fractured/uncooperative faction ever?
Barnabas is all about him
Calaban's about his people.
Maelok wants to be free (even wrong eye's encouraging this)
assuming from the fluff form the books, I suspect Rask want to be free from the gator folks.
There is no blindwater in team.
nom nom nom
While I can stand WoW no longer (never seen a company so intent on running their product into the ground), Level 70 elite tauren chieftain is legit. They make a lot of enjoyable videos.
That music video was rather enjoyable. Thanks for the share. "I am more than man, I am more than a fish, I am a Bog Trog!" Ha

In the witch fire trilogy for the original IKRPG, anything killed by a swamp shambler became a swamp shambler the next round.
Now to be fair IKRPG swamp shamblers were human zombies who had died in a wretched ex orgoth swamp, not bog trogs, but we could still hold out hope for them re-using a concept.
Cheers

Feralgeist-style possession? Thatd be cool, even if just for a round or something. I'm guessing they'll jsut be hardier Trogs though, maybe less sneaky... Wonder how Rask will synergize with em? The pic, based on the arc of the lightning, would suggest he's outputting energy to them...
This is sweet. Honestly, I don't mind them bringing in other races to Blindwater. Farrow was the more strict race faction anyways. I would love to see them break out loads of grymkin. Get the old man of the swamp as a character UA for the shamblers (Yeah I know his are plant based.), Rusulka's as either a solo or a Warlock attachment. Even break out Gristle and Flay and maybe even Spinal finally. The grymkin would be a great fit with the twisted nature of the pact.
Old Man of the Swamp is something I've wanted in blindwater since it's inception. Though more so I have something I can sub in Betty White for.
There are a lot of cool swamp monsters in the Monstronomicons for blindwater to get. But then again I thought they would have added Thornwood Maulers to Circle already as they are referenced in in it's bestiary description.
The thing i'm most excited about this unit, they are all one-piece models (maybe not the witch doctor, we havent seen him yet). LOVE me some one-piece models.
I was really hoping for another unit of actual gators... or a unit of Croak =/
oh well I'll play the cards I'm dealt...
I demand that Rask have Elite Cadre: Bog Trog Ambushers which should give them something fun... like... oh i don't know... Stealth, Brutal Charge, Weapon Master... :P
Also we don't really need another Warbeast for Gators atm... I would like to see a solo or a UA instead... or maybe a Weapon Crew of Croak with a Light Artillery Multi-Barreled Blow Pipe
The Farrow need additional Warbeasts much more than the Gators do...

Rask having ambushers as an elite cadre would be awesome. Unless of course it ends up not being awesome. Then I suppose it would be...unawesome? Fish people.

Ugh. One piece models. There is a reason all one piece models look like crap. Note so enthused about that.
