Default Just got the Harbinger, now I need a decent list for her.

So, just spent some graduation money to get the floating, teenage prophet. I have been kicking around a list but figured I would enlist the help of others before taking her out.

    List:
    Harbinger
    Reckoner
    Vanquisher
    Hierophant
    Bastions (max)
    TFG (max)
    TFG (min)
    Choir (min)
    Vassel of Menoth

I was thinking that Crusader's Call with all those reach weapons would be dangerous but not sure if I'll need an arc node in there somewhere for the rest of the spell list.

    Any thoughts welcome.

    Good evening!

I'm glad to see there is someone else out there toying with a new Harbinger list.

I've recently traveled out of town with my wife, and found a neat little shop that stocks all the WarmaHordes stuff, and here's the list I've come up with so far for my 25pt (subject to change).

    Harbinger
    Reckoner
    Crusader
    Guardian
    Exemplar Errants (min)
    Choir (min)

I've flipped endlessly through the PoM book, and came up with this list for a few reasons:

Choir, for obvious reasons, make three already fantastic jacks that much better. With the Reckoner, you've got good melee and range, all the way around, plus a tough jack to kill if you buff him up with the Choir.

Vanquisher's PS 18 smack is enough to greatly injure, if not completely kill most other faction jacks (minus Khador) if you get good, solid boosted rolls.

If you run the Errants, yes they have only one wound per unit, their range will allow you to keep them out of harms way against most other units of infantry, and even combine attack against an enemy jack. They have weaponmaster, so even though their attacks are kind of weak with 2d6, witih 3 it'll be tough to handle for long.

The Guardian is a nice touch, because not only is it tough to kill, it hits pretty hard, and adds an Arc Node to throw the Harbinger's spells through.

I think the Vassal is a great solo, and I run him in my current list, if for no other reason than Ancillary Attack. However, I've found that has become pretty situational, and haven't had a ton of opportunity personally to utilize it.

Now, I've noticed that your army is far more infantry heavy than I tend to play, and I don't think that's a bad thing by any means, it's just not my typical play style. My current list has a full unit of Cinerators in it (that I acquired through the 2 player battle box), and they can be particularly nasty if left alone. The group that I play with also tends to run somewhat range-heavy armies, or often times 1-shot strategies that leave them high and dry if they miss.

I've been a big fan of the "rule of three" when it comes to jacks, and like to have at least that if the list I'm playing allows for it.

For example, I'll give you my current list:

    pKreoss
    Cinerators (full)
    Choir (min)
    Vassal
    Vanquisher
    Crusader
    Redeemer

One of my friends plays a full list of Pirates, which includes the cannon and cannoneers, Freebooter, Buccaneer, and I want to say a unit of Swashbucklers or something like that, and a caster I can't remember the name exactly.

When we played, he had many, many more combat-functional models on the table. However, it took him tying all of his infantry up on my light jack to kill it, leaving my Vanquisher the ability to AOE-kill all of them. That left his Cannon, which while it has a PS 20 attack, was left worthless against my two heavies due to the Choir's hymn that makes it so they can't be targeted by non-magical ranged attacks. This left me a direct line with my Cinerators to tie one of his heavies up in combat, destroy his other heavy with the Crusader, and leave his caster basically defenseless.

The point to all of that is, that while I see the value in infantry-heavy armies, they aren't always entirely necessary to combat other infantry heavy armies. I've played against multiple armies that are infantry-heavy, that have to tie up a good majority of their infantry just to kill one of my heavies, which usually, with Kreoss's feat leaves their caster for dead.

I would toy around with Forward Kommander a bit, to see what you can come up with. I've found the PoM book absolutely invaluable when building my lists.

I'd also kick the idea around of picking up an Avatar. I've got him on standby, because if you have the room in your list for him, he's an absolute monster for most armies to deal with, especially with his ability that forces any models within 8" of him to advance toward him.

I also feel that he compliments the Harbinger especially well, considering that he generates his own focus (albeit a crapshoot at times), you don't have to allocate the Harbinger's already generous focus pool to him, allowing you to either camp more focus on her, or maximize your spell-slinging potential.

Just a few thoughts. I'm kind of a n00b myself, so I'm probably giving you terrible advice, but it may be worth looking into.

Nathan, do you own all the models in that list or are you looking for purchase recommendations. If you can tell me a bit more about your collection and what you're looking to buy I can give you a lot more customised advice.
