'Shake, have you been tempted to try Thanes at all in the list?
Using the feat to move him could set up good firing lanes and also give a good chance of getting the aiming bonus too. Shooting at Rat 9 should give good odds of hitting most infantry and helping clearing charge lanes for assassination pieces with the multi-fire.
Downside I suppose is that it's competing with the Aspis for this purpose which can take advantage/add to your synergy chain.
first oppitunity I plan to try the following list at 35p
eVyros
- Phoenix
- Griffon
- Griffon
- Griffon
Arcanist
Arcanist
Destor Thane
Max Sentinels + UA + 1 Soulless
Its T4 and I think well balanced out. the Sentinels forward and under feat should easily allow the griffons, the Pheonix and Vyros to come up for the smash down next turn. Probably the Arcanists too. The Thane will be a great flanking model that can ride by and plug infantry blocking a charge lane.
Being such a simple T4 list though, has anyone tried it yet and any success?

Tried out eVyros for the first time in two games.
My35 point list:
eVyros
Hydra x2
Griffon x2
Max Sentinel +UA + Soulless
Arcanist x2
First game vs Orboros.
Morvhana, Megalith, Stalker, Shadowhorn Satyr, Bloodtrackers+Nuala, Shifting Stones, Gallows Grove.
Long story short: eVyros got thrown to the wolves by the Satyr.
My mistakes was positoning my warjacks too dispersed from each other. They must go after a very small group of targets to be effective. Misjudged the Shadowhorn as well. Lessons learned was that eVyros is a tough nut to crack and it takes considerable resources of boxing him even after he has been knocked down.
Second game: vs Khador.
eVlad, War Dog, Drago, Widowmakers, Doom Reavers, Max Iron Fang Pikemen, Kayazy Eliminators x2, Man-o-war Drakhun. Manhunter x2, Saxon Orrik.
Bearing my lesson in fresh mind I positioned my warjacks together in a smaller area.
Long story short: Lost this game as well due to scenario loss, extremely high def eliminators (those was a terror to play against) and not being able to handle swathes of infantry and solos.
I`ve never missed AOE-spam or Phoenix as much as I did when they started to chew through my infantry, the warjacks being preoccupied at another part of the frontlines.
Game started good though. I used my warjacks to block LOS from the widowmakers to my Sentinels. Worked like a charm, they were practically neutered the whole game. Also managed to wipe out the Doom Reavers at turn 2 with no own losses so far. But alas, high-def eliminators were hard to counter, especially when I wanted my synergy chain going by swinging at something that I knew I had high chances to hit.
However, I really noticed the power of Synergy when I could buffa Hydra with arcanist and three synergy chains up to Mat 9, POW 19. Drago evaporated in one turn and the Man-o-war Drakhun as well. The next turn three warjacks oblitorated all the Pikemen, using only three focus all in all.
The feat is a tricky one. I could positon my warjacks or get my infantry out of harms way. I seldom used it aggressively unless I wanted to mess up his activation.
So my next list will be something like this:
eVyros
Hydra - For Focus battery
Phoenix - For Shooting, Reach and Combution
Griffon - synergy chain, engaging enemy forward elements
Griffon - Synergy chain, engaging enemy forward elements
Arcanist - the obvious choice
Full Halberdier+UA+Soulless - Should be a great replacement to Sentinels. Cheap enough not to worry about them dying, resilient enough to outlast most enemy attacks and a very credible offense in the form of mini-feat and Brutal Charge.
Mage Hunter Assassin - gives the enemy something more to think about
In my games versus a similar setup, I also had a tough time cracking Iron Flesh Kayazy/Winterguard. Without Stormfalls, or a lot of focus to throw around to boost To Hit on my Myrmidons, swathes of high Def infantry are scary. I made sure to include a Phoenix, and will eventually try Hyperion with his big blast template, to allow eVyros to handle such matchups.
On high-DEF problems, two Synergy hits gets Vyros up to MAT10 impact attacks. Not much infantry should stand in the way of his endgame.
I think Hyperion is going to be too pricy for eVyros if you want to take advantage of Synergy. I'm not adverse to taking heavy jacks (over the "Spam Lights" approach) because they have certain advantages - being naturally stronger, having guns and being able to trample - but at 18 points, Hyperion is just going to take the place of too many other jacks (that's the price of 2 Griffons and a Phoenix!)...
Zerkova: Fools! How hard can it be to kill one measily elf? Where the hell is he anyway?
Narn: I is in your base, killing all your doodz!
Zerkova: Harsh!
True, Hyperion means less Synergy, but can also contribute to the mobile brick/beat stick playstyle of Vyros I think. Sentinels in formation with Discordia, Hyperion and Vyros... The lowest Armor there is Disco at 20. Vyros is at 22 without even camping, the Sentinels and Hyperion are at 21, with lots of blast damage immunity (not that it really becomes necessary, at that point) and no easy target for ranged enemy units. All of those models making it into combat intact, perhaps with an Assassin or two hiding in the wings and some MHSF to jam and die under Vyros' feat; I can think of quite a few matchups where I think this setup would be favorable over spamming Lights.
I've already made some use of feeding Synergy points to Vyros, but I wouldn't mind setting Hyperion up for a devastating turn either. A couple of points of Synergy on Hyperion, plus Arcanist Support, and you're looking at a model that no longer needs to boost to hit against most targets and is dice +4 or +5 against Khador heavies.

After a few more games with Vyros2, I'm loving him more and more. Synergy is pretty ridiculously awesome in my eyes. Killing a full-health earthborn by giving a Phoenix 2 focus, CP, +2/+2 synergy, and charging (so a total of 3 attacks) was extremely gratifying - made all the more amusing by the fact it had 1 box left when I was done, then burnt to death. Also, scrapping Drago (admittedly not one of the toughest jacks ever built, but still a heavy) with one charging sentinel and charge+2nd initial from a Sphinx was fun too.

ust having access to Easy Rider is beautiful. You probably won't need it every game - terrain can be maneuvered around - but when you do need it you really need it. The game I killed the EBDT was against Grissel2, who has Inhospitable Ground. Without Easy Rider that would've been a very uphill battle for my heavily melee force; with ER things went very well. It did mean only being able to allocate 2 focus to jacks (didn't have Sylys, unfortunately), but as I said above a Phoenix with even 2 focus can really get the job done if you get a couple Synergy stacks.
Also, it may sound obvious but I discovered using the feat to move reach models (like one of my Griffons) to engage non-reach ranged troops can be pretty effective. Especially against units that can melee well (Invictors, Errants, the ones I did it to were Scattergunners [maybe not good in melee, but still not as anemic as most ranged troops]). Griffons also perform well in this role for a couple other reasons - innate pathfinder for one, plus Bird's Eye can let you move in past the first line and still engage them.
Still haven't use Lock the Target or Twister, though, haha. Ah well, the time will come.![]()

The more people say "Synergy is amazing!" the happier I get. (This goes for all things repeated about eVyros, as it solidifies his truths)
For all the old Retribution salts, being able to think "and then Phoenix is going to walk over and take Beast 09 from full to dead" with crystal clarity is like being liberated. The chains were lifted. Finally.
