Rök and Bomber switcheroo Dire question

Hey all, Tim here. So I am TREMENDOUSLY interested in getting the Dire Troll kit and Rök, but I have a few questions. I want to be able to switch between a Bomber and Rök (I have a Mauler and a Blitzer, and MUCH prefer the original sculpts). I know magnets will be the way to go. So I know the back piece is interchangeable between the quills and the back harness, and it leaves a noticeable gap. Any ideas how to mask the gap? I was thinking sculpting more rocky pieces to hide the gap. I fully intend on sculpting more quills on his back to make it look more natural. I don't own the model yet, so all I have is speculation; can you help? Thanks!

The best way I can think of is building some sort of cross bar inside of the DT torso to mount the magnet on. Much like you would magnetize the cupola on a miniature tank, but it will leave a nasty seam.

Side Note: I didn't care for the harness on the DTB, so I just gave him quills. I was worried about the little guy breaking off in transportation.

I was thinking of having the quills permanantly and have the head and hands interchangeable. It might look cool with the quills and face mask. Only thing is the little guy that is he tell-tale sign he's a Bomber (I'm thinking as a PG and tourneys) I may do a mod or something. Thanks for the idea!

I guess what makes it a bomber, at least to me, is the.....bombs.

If you could sink a magnet into the back piece from the underside so that it was just below the surface then you could also magnatize the pyg that lights the bomb to the back. That way you can just use the quill back at all times and just have the Pyg look like he is sitting/hanging onto the troll's shoulder/back.

I was originally going to do this, but had a little trouble with Rok's ax hand. The Ax was just a little too heavy for the magnet and caused it to droop. Decided I'd just rather have Rok look great than have the Bomber option.

However, before I reached this decision, I had decided to do this for the whole quill problem, so maybe you can do something similar. I was going to stick with the quills, but get the guy lighting the fuse like so:

-edit- Can you take a farther away pic of the Bomber hand? I would like to see how it looks less blurry. I am seriously going to do this since I REALLY like Rök and don't own a Bomber.

The lack of quills between his head and back bug me, so I ordered the metal Mauler's back quills to cut up and glue into the gap.

I like doing mods where you don't need to buy any parts due to it all being IN the box!!

Sadly, I don't have the bit anymore. As much as I liked it, I needed to be rid of it to keep from trying to use it. Here's how it was made though:

Left bomber hand
Fuse from the right bomber hand trimmed a bit to fit in the left hand keg.
Blitzer gunner whelp. His feat actually fit between the bottom two fingers on the bomber hand to stand.
Blitzer gunner hands. Clipped these off the gun.
Lit fuse from the right keg. Actually, this could probably be replaced by the torch the normal bomber whelp holds, but I ruined it before I realized how I could best make it work.

Let me know if you have any other questions. It's pretty easy over all. Should be easy enough to explain.

I don't own the model yet (PG order got placed yesterday), so I don't have questions just yet. I can imagine it quite easily, though. I may do some modding, like put the torch in his hand and do a head swap since I own the metal Blitzer and don't want both little guys looking the same. Thanks for the help!!
