35 point 2List event, first attempt at Tournament Lists

So my plan is to maintain Conjunction and use my Bone Jacks to do my "heavy lifting", they will allow me to turtle like a ***** after I pop my feat!

Cephelyx spam is because... Well I'm out to prove a point, bondage freaks CAN do it! The Overlords will serve as "Crowd Control" allowing my Drudges to molest the crippled units.

2 Seethers because I was unsure to as how much I want all my focus, combined with infernal machine cycling via my Skarlock and these mat 10 bastards should be ripping it up in style!

Additional Rules

Slaughterborn and Bloodgorger units gain Advance Deployment.
Seethers in Venethrax's battlegroup gain Advance Move.

This list is for when I run up against the inevitable Hordes player... Pretty straight forward, advance as fast as possible and beat face. Open a charge lane and blast said Caster to hell...
Now I could reduce my Bloodgorgers to Min size and take pistol Wraiths to add in some flexibility and opportunity for shenanigans, which I am kind of leaning towards.

Venethrax looks good if you want to keep it tier. You will curse terrain.

What is your primary victory condition with the Coven list? I kind of like the second list better, but I still don't see a good assassination vector. Spell assassination isn't as easy as it sounds with POW12, so their main victory condition is usually jack bullet, but your jacks aren't very durable (Deathjack), nor fast (Nightmare).
Maybe add some Bile Thralls? They're fun with Occultation

Maybe I should minimize my Gorgers and take the 2 Pistol Wraiths to help with board control?

Now I could reduce my Bloodgorgers to Min size and take pistol Wraiths to add in some flexibility and opportunity for shenanigans, which I am kind of leaning towards.

That's sort of the type of decision that I'm trying to struggle with at the moment as I prepare for a tournment next month with a Venethrax list I want to bring along. Whether to focus on a bit more of fulfilling another unit, or putting denial on the table. Denial components will help me with a significant beast heavy list so that I can keep him from getting dogpiled on, but on the other hand having extra soul collectors available for him can really help fuel him as well. Sort of a balancing act.

I like the speed aspect of the Venethrax theme list though. Haven't tried it yet. Sounds like it could really make a difference with putting pressure on full-tilt first turn.

Hammered out several games recently with Venny (5) I won 2 against Cygnar, 1 against Abby LoE Tier 4 and then lost 2 to Circle.

the one Circle game ended top of turn 2 in a rather embarrassing combo of him Cryxing Venny (Ghost walk met a bunch of movement shenanigans and a charge from his warp wolf!)

the second game I had the Circle lock stock and got stupid, advanced well beyond my means (I had more then enough qualified killers such as a Seether, Skarlock, 6 Bloodgorgers or Gerlack to beat his caster to death) with 26 Armour I didn't think a Light Beast could take the last 6 hit boxes I had left but low and behold! He pounded out max fury and managed to get one box more then He needed!
Hands down the Pistol Wraiths have to be there, Seethers + Smash and Grab with a Wraith to shoot their prone ***** when you didn't have the Focus to spare is amazing.

You will NEED a Skarlock for cycling Soul Harvester, the only thing I have been unsure about is the Arc-Node and I have been seriously considering exchanging it for a Stalker if just to add an extra target for my enemies to shoot at...

Venny is a Balls-deep caster, I bagged 2 of my wins with him getting the Caster kill the other win he was the linch pin. Even against the Circle in game 2 I wrecked a Warp wolf and 2 light beasts with him. It was interesting running a Warcaster that plays so differently and I would recommend his Tier list all of the time!
