    Default Upcoming 35pt tourney

Hello. I'm just getting started with Gators(normally play legion) and at the end of the month my LGS is having a Kill and Grill(cook out between rounds) 35pt tourney and I am need a bit of help.

    So far I have:
    Calaban (+6)
    Wrastler (9)
    Bull Snapper (3)
    Swamp Horror (8)
    Gatormen Posse(max)(9)
    2 Croak Hunters (4)

that leaves 8 points free, I do own a Totem Hunter I could use aswell. I was wondering would it be to much to add a Ironback Spitter, or would that be to many heavies for Calaban?

So not playing theme force? Rare, but we can work with it. Are these all your models and you're considering, what to catch next without spending too much?

If that's the case: One Spitter is a good investion, you'll end up loving them. They can run on low fury, in the middle to later game, you'll end up just boosting your attack rolls (at best). Calaban can work with 4 beasts, as long you know which one you should use.

Use your Horror to protect Calaban (and for its animus) and he won't need much fury, while you want to run the Spitter hot. The Spitter is less effective if you run into melee, since the cont.Acid works on friendly models, too, so it'll end up spitting the flanks and unengaged models. So then it's the time for the Horror to shine.

Its possible, but you need some feeling and calculating when running 4 beasts, since our fury-management is called: FRENZY!
"Throwing Farrow Brigands into a nasty infantry is not a sacrifice, but rather providing your opponent with bacon."

"Some idiot said, Barnabas will never ascend to godhood. After the battle, the same idiot stared at him and wimmered: Oh my god!"

Not running theme as I figured the swamp pits from pact may help more, tho i could be wrong. I have played a few 15 and 25 pt games with Calaban and I really like the feel of him. I think I will go ahead and pick up the Spitter. Thank you for the help!

I do love the spitter. He is a great investment for sure. Mine has actually gotten a couple of caster kills and has been able to take huge chunks of enemy jacks and beasts health out. And I generally try and get shots off with him from turn one and hope for a nice deviation. Once against cygnar I was able to deviate on to a jack marshal on the bottom of turn one and kill it. That was just a great deviation. And puking on a group of one wound infantry and watching them melt in the next turn is great fun. I just love the model and I love to field him.
