    Default Unboxing the Conquest!

Finally got my hands on mine (via my ninja shopper), and snapped some not great, but passable photos.

By my count, it consists of 11 metal parts, 17 resin parts, a plastic base, a cardboard wreck marker and 2 cards.

As for pose-ability, it's about the same as the Khador plastic 'jack. The shoulder collars have 1 axis of rotations, as do the hands. The elbow joints are ball-and-socket, but the shoulder joint is fixed. The two shoulder pieces do look to be universal though, and they're at different angles, so that's some room for options too.

The under-shoulder guns have one degree of rotation, and the main gun up top is free to rotate also. The head is on a ball and socket, but the wires are a part of the head, and may need to be bent into place if you're having him look super far to one direction or another.

The flash is minimal, save the resin sprue bits, but they're all placed in good, easy to clean or hidden spots.

    Overall, A+, this kit's fantastic.

The mold lines on some of those pieces are HORRIBLE.

Which piece do you think is bad? The resin pieces have the mold sprues, but other than that, IMO none of them are bad enough to warrant a new part.

Those just look bad because the flash folded over, and it looks like lots of extra material. The right shoulder's mold line will take very little effort, but the left's has a 0.5mm jump where the mold was a bit mis-aligned. Since it's so close to the rivets, it'll require some finesse, but it's not that big of an issue.

I found the flash to be much much better than the Battle Engines. It was mentioned to me by another PG that the resin is also soft. You will sand through a lot of it quickly so be careful as you work on it. In reality though these guys look really good. There were a dozen or so built at LNL and I didn't hear any negatives about quality at all.

The flash on the Colossals is pretty minute compared to the flash/errors on some of the Battle Engines... I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Its flash. It happens. Mold lines happen. This is why we do prep work...

    Bless you sir.

I've been waiting for someone to do an unboxing of this bad boy, so I can start speculating how I'm going to assemble/paint him!

Question on the feet/lower torso. Can the two different feet be switched or do the attachments to the torso preclude that?

I'll have to look when I get home. IIRC, the upper legs to the torso are keys, but those could be removed. The upper leg to lower legs looks to be uniquely keyed, but again, those could be removed and pins used.

I'm going to say with 60% certainty, you could swap the lower legs and get an entirely different pose. I can take more detailed pictures of the leg keys when I get home tonight, if you'd like.

Yep, definitely resin, the sprue points are a dead giveaway, as is the texture - resin feels different than plastic.

Plus, I doubt PP would allow models of this magnitude to be made by anyone but their own manufacturing thralls who hand pour every resin piece that PP sells. Those folks are awesome!

So, the legs have a pipe that connects at two points to the legs. These connection points are in slightly different places due to the length of the pipe. If you wanted to swap the lower legs, in order to reverse the upright / bent combo, you'll likely have to re-work the pipe. It's 0.156" or 4mm in diameter.

The upper legs are keyed into the waist, but if you find a big enough drill to widen those keys out, you'll be able to rotate them as necessary.

Slightly more involved than I thought, but do-able.

"Easy" being the wrong word, but looks like it will be much easier to repose the legs pretty much however you want compared to trying it with Stormwall!
