How will Cygnar get out of this one? (Colossals Fluff spoilers)

Hey there so there's quite a few developments in Colossals for Cygnar.

Anyway by the end of it even though we've allied with Khador things aren't looking good.

We've lost a huge fight to the Cryx and the only up side is that it's in the Thornwood instead of Point Bourne. Also Khador seems to be worse off than us for a change.

In the state of our warcasters (Based on the video)

Nemo- Still standing and in charge
Stryker- Mortally wounded
Kraye- Mortally wounded
Darius- Broken army
Siege - Captured
Haley - Depowered
Constance- ??? (Assumed broken army)
Sloan- ???
Caine- ???

From the slaughter described it sounds like the Storm Division is toast and the 1st Army took massive blows. Those famed Stormwalls aren't doing too well by the end of it.

Not to mention Magnus is up to some shenanigans

So the question is how do you think this is going to resolve?
And for fun if you were Nemo or Irusk what would your next move be?

.....Depowered? What? I thought she'd be like, just in a vegetative state from the poisons or something. Darn it I really want to read the book now....

The whole WM setting has always been a big, fat anime to me, with Cygnar being the main "faction" for the protagonists; Stryker and Haley being the main male/female characters respectively. I could go into greater detail of why exactly I think of it as this, but I'm going to just leave it at this for now.

So...based on that logic, the whole idea is to ultimately gather "nakama" to combat the main evil. Eventually at the end of it all, the final picture would be probably Stryker, Kreoss and Vlad standing shoulder-to-shoulder, leading to the final fight between Asphyxious and Stryker, at which points Asphyxious would have figured something out to make himself insanely powerful, but Stryker wins anyway. Haley, of course, would be stuck in a final catfight with Denny.

So in that sense, they will have to drive Cygnar, Khador and PoM to their knees and absolutely break their sense of individuality to the point where they unite. The process would probably take many, many books though.

Other random thoughts which are mostly born out of my imagination rather than any form of true speculation, so please don't hate me
:

- Old Witch would probably play a pivotal role in this whole scenario, since its fairly unclear what she is, exactly.
- Sevvy might get killed by Feora eventually (maybe with the help of Vinter), then she'll probably go full-on dictator and clamp down on some of the dudes like Kreoss. Then we might get the whole Lawful Evil vs Lawful Good thing going, with Kreoss siding the Paladins/Exemplars against Feora and her Templeflameguard minions.
- Frankly I've always figured Vlad would have some sort of significant plot twist, but that might be in this book. With him riding the horse and stuff.
- I actually think Leto and Vinter will at some point go all archenemies-forced-together, sorta like an Optimus Prime + Megatron temporary truce. Vinter/Magnus are ultimately still loyal to Cygnar itself, and they represent a more brutal/ruthless reflection of Leto's....niceness. Combined together they might just barely keep Cygnar afloat, so to speak.

Oh and.
- Vlad will become king/emperor and figure something out with Llael, and maybe Ord.
- Kreoss will become Hierarch, and restore the Paladins to their original esteemed position.
- Vinter's son will take over as king, probably mentored by Leto, or Stryker. I won't be surprised if Vinter/Magnus (and maybe Leto) die in some sort of grand final battle.

I don't know, it all makes sense to me.....but I guess many would hate my concepts haha.

This is Cygnar. You get used to reading about complete collapse and fighting for a stalemate.

Some day I'm going to play a little drinking game. Every time Styker makes a bold proclamation and Cygnar then suffers an immediate rout I'm taking a shot. I expect to be pretty drunk by the end.

Haley will probably have some life altering revelation soon in which she gains her powers back and returns as a FOC 9 warcaster with a Feat that just lets you win the game :P
Stryker is fine, if pseudo-gods, falling chappels, pissed of Menoth woman cant kill him, I think he can more than take this little pickle.
Caine is in a bar getting laid probably, about to be going double epic of a bar maid somewhere... if you know what I mean.
Nemo will probably end up pretty buddy buddy with Irusk. Great Rivals becoming friends? Smells like this.
Seige will probably be the little girl again and show Butcher the wrongs of his way and somehow the Butcher will have another grand revelation and be friends? Then Seige gets well and goes Epic.
Darius will probably... hopefully build himself a new suit and go Epic >_> and maybe be usefull apart from running StormWall great.
Blaize will probably be asked by Cygnar to get the full aid of the precursors for the next assault on Thornwood.
Kara will probably go check on his boyfriend's status and go on a date filled with hilarity and shenanigas.
Kraye's fine ala Stryker these men can take gun shot wounds to the heart and shrug them off. He'll probably be bed ridden for some time though.

Finn finally realises the Trenchers are over costed and decides to form his own unit of trenchers that are still expensive, but kick *** and actually do something apart from dieing.
The Black 13th try to infultrate the fortress very secret agent style.
Katherine goes cry to her daddy wondering why barely anyone cares about her.

As for their next move? Probably keep the pressure on the thronewood... I'd imagine Cygnar and Khador park a **** ton of Defenders and Destroyers outside of the woods and just mercelessly bombard the thing from far away while they surround them effectively.
It would be cool to see Magnus strike the heartland of Cryx with his new army... since everyones (including cryx) is basically at Thornwood, but eh....

This seems to be the moment that Cryx is being throne a bone. They'd been complaining that they had been these ineffectual bad guys for ages. That all they did was rub their hands together and laugh about how cool they were while Haley steadily ***** slapped her way through their warcasters.

So now that Cryx have been justified as a threat you might see Cygnar coming together to lead the way in their repulsion.

My take from the spoilers was that Cygnar and Khador finally realized the nature of the Cryx threat but were unprepared for just how bad it was. Now with two of the highest ranked soldiers in their respective armies, Irusk and Nemo, seeing just how screwed the Thornwood situation has gotten...well its not a stretch to think the Cygnar/Khador alliance gets extended for a book or two.

Personally just from what I read I feel much better off then say the last two books, where we continually lost territory. The only thing that has me worried is Magnus's current plans since he has a growing merc army with colossals.

You forgot to mention Siege is also half dead.

With the way PP has things set-up, things can go two ways.

1. Vlad comes barreling in with Severius and a Menoth army, as the stuff about Cryx in Thornwood COULD be what Starscream... err, Vindictus had interrupted earlier. The Cryx are scattered, but the Menites turn on Cygnar. Khador insulted by whatever deal Vlad has cooked up, attacks the Protectorate as well. Things work for the Alliance until the Butcher shows up dragging a half dead Siege along, turning the fight into a Battle Royale. All forces withdraw and a stalemate occurs again.

2. Trolls save the day. Madrak, Borka, Grim, and Doomshaper all marched east with a big army two books ago, to head into some unknown battle and it has not been touched since. Their arrival with some Gargantuan trolls in tow could smash the Cryx force and allow for Cygnar and Khador to retreat. The Trolls now control the Thornwood and use it as a staging point for a strike at Skorne. Cygnar and Khador hold onto a strained Alliance to destroy Cryx and open diplomatic channels. Khador regroups and sends forces after the Trolls while Cygnar abandons that front entirely, letting the trolls have it until their Alliance with Khador is done.


Lalnuir has a interesting idea there, with a potential Haley3 become a Thamarite to restore her abilities. Or having the pendulum move to the Morrowan side if Connie can heal her or something.

Personally I think The other dragons will save the day. Legion will show up for the anthanc, the Cryx forces will show up to defend it, the anthanc will get lose and become a dragon, and then it will flame everybody, destroying the Cryx presence on the mainland and stopping Legion from growing too powerful.

Hey we win on occasion. Haley wins all the time, and Stryker well he did have that one time over the Heirarch. Sure, the Stryker deal was a total deus ex machina, Haley pantsing Skarre on the cryxian island makes no sense, and the lich lord that Haley and Kraye beat was a drooling retard that brings his phylactery with him when going into hostile lands. But we won, like three times.

Besides we should feel happy by allying themselves with Cygnar, Khador is bound to get boned. Cygnar's aura of losing is contagious ya know.

based on the video, here's what I think will happen next.

Haley will be on a pilgrimage to regain her power. She'll team up with Conny on a mission to recover some Morrowan relics that can restore her power. However, they find Orgoth relics and an Orgoth spirit takes over Haley's body. Conny tried her best (to the point of exhaustion) to exorcist the Orgoth spirit but fails. When all seemed lost, Denny shows up and "kills" Haley but the Orgoth spirit went ghostly and escapes but not before engulfing Denny in Orgoth fire. An exhausted Conny finds the bodies of the sisters near death and Conny tries to revive Haley. A delirious Haley mumbles about helping her sister and the true nature of Denny is revealed to Conny. Conny takes her blade with the intention of ending the sister's suffering, spoke an ancient Morrowan prayer. Right at the moment before Conny's blade strikes both sisters, a familiar Morrowan (or to some effect) light shown and covered the sisters. Right in front of Conny's eyes she saw the sisters transform... Haley's mechanical parts and Denny's undead flesh start regenerating. In the end, Conny hears the voices of the 2 warcasters asking her to follow them back to Point Bourne.

Siege awakes in pain and realizes he's being held captive by the Butcher. He tries to escape but before he could make his move he heard the voice of Magnus. It seems like the Butcher ran into the Traitor. Magnus' army clashes with the Butcher leaving an opportunity for Siege to escape and report to Point Bourne.

Stryker recovers from his wounds but his body was too damaged to be saved. Fortunately, a Khadoran prisoner who worked in the Karchev project was "willing" to share to Artificer Nemo the secrets of Karchev the Terrible. Nemo worked with Darius and within a few months debuted Stryker's new armor... Stryker3...Stryker in a Thunderhead Chassis!

Kraye returned to service a changed man. While riding his usual route, Kraye had an idea on how to improve upon his warjack controls. Inspired by the Stormwall, Kraye asked Nemo to find a way for Kraye to pilot a light warjack chassis. This epic Kraye will have elite cadre with cavalry unit and affinity to a Character Hunter.

Sloan and Caine were both assigned to hold the line. While waiting for orders, the two warcasters compared their markmanship skills. Becoming fast friends, Sloan and Caine exchanged techniques and tactics that would end up in a special themed force. Sloane will gain Caine's gunfighter skills while Caine's range and ability to target stealth improves.

As for Nemo and Irusk. The 2 Generals realized that for both kingdoms to survive, they must keep working together to repel the Cryx, Protectorate, Legion, Skorne and Retribution threats. Together, they forged a treaty with the Trollbloods that would aid the Trollkin against the Blackclads in exchange for a few Mountain King and Dire Troll support against the Legion (for Khador's side) and Skorne (Cygnar's borders).

Meanwhile, the Mercenary contracts and syndicates are at an all-time high. Minion forces become more of factor when it comes to hiring outside help.

hmmmm... sorry for a long post.. got bored at work... it would be nice to have the Haley storyline happen... since Denny is kinda in the crossroads and since Karchev might be at risk to go Cryx...

Unless I have missed something in the colossal spoilers then Caine is still down in south east Cygnar hanging out with runewood and trying to kill Vinters bastard.
I think it is far more likely he'll follow Magnus to five fingers than head north to the thornwood with everyone else.

Also I'd say true sight as an upkeep spell trumps arcane precision.

Well compare her efforts to other Cygnaran warcasters... pretty sure her wins would qualify as all the time compared to never at all . She actually has three wins in the fluff versus Deneghra, Skarre, and Lich Lord Drooling Retard. I'm pretty sure that leads Cygnar. Besides even though Denny is totally playing Haley, she did only go out of commission due to saving Nemo's life from those Cryxian assassins in Wrath, so she did actually accomplish that goal. Yay, Cygnar.

I think it's because Leto seems to be really nice and cuddly while Vinter was badass enough to subjugate an entire race by himself.

On the other hand people seem to forget Leto pretty much invented the modern CRS and pushed for Storm nouns to be the basis of the specialist armies even before the Lion's Coup.

But that's not nearly as flashy as Vinter's everybody against me dies tactics.

Basically if Vinter's the general that get's romanticized in stories. Leo's is the supply officer that nobody cares about but without him the entire system would collapse.

Vinter showed results. Leto sunk bunch of resources into restructuring the court, army and technology but fails to deliver any major military success. Maybe another coup is in order... this time comrades of Cygnar Kingdom shall vote red.

Well I don't like Vinter in that he is a tirannic bastard, but Leto is a ***** tbh. He gets trown around in court by all the nobles. He has no real power, he is a puppet for the nobles. I want to see a strong leader, who cares about the people (like Leto), but who also gets the job done (perhaps like Vinter). Perhaps no king is needed, some sort of republic could be in order, chosen by the people, preferably not consisting of the noble who only care about themselves.

Altough I love red and I suggest that the truse with khador lasts, until the Khador princes get mad en break done the Khador royality. I don't beleave that Cygnar want to vote red , redisch probably socialism, but I doupt it will end in like a Soviet union style of contract with Khador.

Also wondering why is our good Artificer General Nemo not investing/ thinking of airforces???

They have one of their oldest and best a prisoner of Cryx, which is arguably worse then depowered.

That chunk of land they took is filled with Cryx and a giant fortress of doom.

Have they taken the hits Cygnar has? No, but we got Point Borne back and our supply line currently doesn't run through an undead infested forest.
