Looks good, and price seems reasonable.
If you don't know what something does, you've probably already lost.
DIY Minis Case: Half the cash, twice the space!
Impenitrable Trencher Smoke Wall, mkII
Looks very interesting.
Hope this line fate is more akin to WMH rather than MonPoc
Edit: that means we're going to see an official announcement for the RPG soon?![]()
WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.

The game was a blast to play. Its definitely Survival based, and for the components, definitely worth the cost.

I played the Demo, and there was no NDA, so, yeah, it was a lot of fun. I found a gun and a stun-baton... It was STILL impossible for me to kill the enemies. The Mouth of the South left us all to die... I'll never forgive him for that...

Kind of eh about there being only four characters. That's what I'm assuming anyways since it says four character sheets. I mean, I understand there's only four players but it doesn't hurt to have a bit of selection beyond that.

To the "four characters" thing. That's a limit to the players. the Characters get skills that modify them, and it can drastically change your character

Do you have a sense for how random the game is? One of the things that hurts some of the Gobbers games is that the outcome of the game depends far too much on getting lucky draws early.
Do you go and make up some sheets, sit down, and whoops, there's a boss monster and you haven't found any weapons yet, so who wants to play some Parcheesi?
NoVA players: Come to Game Parlor Chantilly on Thursday nights for some Warmachine/Hordes action!

Na, that seems to be something thats almost impossible. The game I played went through a very cool start-middle-**** Pants phase progression. Even if you get cacked early, the Denziens of Sub Terra Bravo want to keep you alive, cause, you know. test subject. The only thing that seems possible is that the tiles you need to find flip late game, but it still seems planed well with the amount of movement you can potentially get.
Sadly, I cannot. However, on eveery players turn, you filp an Event (or, As I should call it, the "get screwed) card, and terrible things happen. You have up to three terrible things that will happen, based on where you are, what you've done, and what other denziens are on the board.

Yeah. As they said a number of times at L&L, there are times it really behooves you to aid your compatriots, and some REALLY good times to screw everyone over so you can live. I was getting chased down a hallway by a dozen clones and guards, revealing each room as I crashed through each door in turn. The hall made a right turn and... Ended. I was stuck in a dead end trying desperatly to figure a way out, when one of the other players found the elevator out... Across the board, back through the Clones and Guards. it was awful. I never made it out.

Can you compare it to Betrayal at House on the Hill?

I cannot personally, but I have heard others compare it favorably to that game.

looks interesting, but a bit disappointed that there's no plastic minis or anything in it. entering a board game market you really have to compete with fantasy flight games and having at least minis to represent the players would have been a good thing.

Except that having minis would have pushed it into a different price bracket. If they wanted to get into the 'normal' board game market, I think they did the right thing. There are board games that focus on minis (Super Dungeon Explore, Descent, etc...) but they cost significantly more than $55.

I agree with the decision to not use minis. they use very pretty, high Quality standees, with more "omph" to them than an unpainted mini gives. They really give the terror of the subjects and the freakishness of the Hybrids and Clones a good visual, without needing a high Quality paint standard.

Expansions or limited release models can mitigate the lack of plastic minis.

Or people can just find minis from other companies. There are a TON of companies aside from PP and GW after all.
It definitely looks interesting. I am hoping it will be demo'd at Gencon too so I can give it a shot before deciding to pick it up.
For love. For honor. For Devilsquid.
I really didn't think I'd be interested in this after finding out it wasn't a minis game, but I find myself getting curiouser and curiouser...
Thats just the mind controll talking, you my friend need a tin foil hat to stop THEM beaming thoughts in to your head!
I really fancy a copy when it comes out, but I`m wearing a tin hat so I know THEY have not got to me![]()
Sounds like a variant of the Gears of War boardgame. That was the first game using the idea of an AI deck.
apart from all 3 wizards of the coast D&D games are a mere $10 more at full rrp or $10 less on amazon.com and come with around 60 plastic minis and is a similar idea of coop game.
doom the boardgame was less (only costs more now because of rarety) when i picked it up last year.
so the prices dont have to go up just because of minis, in fact its rare that I get a board game these days that doesnt have minis of one sort or another.
not saying it doesnt look interesting but the boardgame market generally expects more these days at least at my old local board games club

I am very very interested in this game and can not wait to get my hands on it
It looks pretty cool. Like a hybrid of Space Hulk & something like Elder Sign or Call of Cthulhu.
Trolls win ratio of 42%
Are there any reviews available? Links would be appreciated.
Really looking forward to this and the series of Level 7 games to come out in the future.
I really like the 30-60 time limit.
