Default Oil drums in the IK

I know that the IK is steampunk, but I'm wondering if oil drums exist in the fluff - or at the very least their equivilant?

Reason why is I would like to make some rafts built from balsa wood and oil drums as terrain pieces for a display board that I'm building for my Trollbloods.

I would assume that the Protectorate store their Menoth's Fury (Oil lol) in some sort of Menoth's Fury Drums?
Sooooooo I would just say its that cause its pretty much the same thing
    Hope this helps

I don't know why they wouldn't. They use metal, and have stuff they need to store. Nothing about oil drums would take away from the fantasy of steampunk (especially since nations like Khador are rather industrial), so I'd say go for it.

Even though most of the industry uses coal as fuel, they probably use oil for any number of other applications - like lubrication in machinery, or even just as lighting fuel. There are probably also many other products that could be packed and shipped in similar metal barrels.

Given the Middle Eastern-inspired visuals of the Protectorate, I'd guess that they'd be more likely to store Menoth's Fury in large clay pots.

Some historical information as far as oil storage goes.

Drake's Well used barrels. The drilling there started in 1859, and is dead-on for Victorian-era society. While I know that the Iron Kingdoms setting isn't Victorian per se, Steampunk in general is largely based on that era. You can find some great photos from Drake's Well on the Drake Well Museum page. The images are small, but if you click them, you will see a larger image which should give you an idea of what was used. The link includes a couple of images that show what was used to transport oil via train: large tanker-type train cars.

Here is a patent for, and here is an image of the first railway oil tank car. Each of the drums held 40-45 barrels of oil.

Nellie Bly was granted a patent for the "metal barrel" (the predecessor of the 55-gallon oil drum) in 1905, which falls just after the Victorian era proper, but, the patent itself is a great resource and the drawings show a barrel that seems to fit in well with a steampunk setting.
