    Default Linear objectives

I am pretty sure I missed something or misread something, but for the sake of it, I just can't figure out what.

Let's assume there is fence on the board, about 1/4 inch wide.
Player A lines up a unit exactly 1/2 inch away from the fence.
Player two got a non-reach unit across the fence and wants to attack the unit of player A in melee. How does he do it?

    - He can't cross the fence, as there isn't enough space for his models between fence and enemy bases.
    - He can't reach the enemy unit across the fence (1/4 inch +1/2 inch > melee range).
    - He can't move (partially) on top of the fence either, since it is less than 1/2 inch wide.

There must be some error here.

    Thanks

No error. Solution is to change your tactics.

And you meant "linear obstacle" btw.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

In fact, the standard Rock Wall linear obstacle from the spell Rock Wall or certain tier benefits is actually 1/2" thick, and you cannot attack over it at all without reach. Working as intended.

Well, if a non-reach model is b2b with the wall and is attacking something that is also b2b with the wall and the attacking model is attacking exactly perpendicular to the wall, by way of tangents then he could attack the model as the target is exactly in the attacker's melee range.

I think The Happy Anarchist misstyped since the rock wall at the back of the rulebook is actually 0,75" wide, so no a non-reach model can not attack across it.

Also remember that when attacking over a Linear Obstacle you suffer a -2 to hit in melee
    This is Correct.
