Default Colossal Field of Fire targeting question

    Hi,

    In the following situation:

Can the colossal attack the target with Melee weapons on it's Left Field of Fire ?

(This is obviously similar to ranged weapons with RNG X, with 2" replaced with X" in the diagram...)

Yes, you can attack with both sides. If any part of the enemies base is on the centerline, either side can attack. Then, you have to be within 2". If both of these conditions are met, you're good as gold. You don't have to be within 2" on the side you're attacking with, as that isn't specified.

I originally thought so as well, due to how normal attacks work. However, with Field of Fires as they are, I'd expect that the melee range of the Field of fire is 2".

Field of Fire doesn't affect melee range at all.

I agree. However,is a model that is Outside of 2" of the Left field of fire, within the Melee range of the left field of fire, even if its base is touching the line out from the center. this is even more necessarily due to Huge Bases, as they have a more likely hood of having this effect.

I believe field of fire is all about LOS and targetting. You would still measure 2 inch range from any point in the model's front arc I think.

The Facing & line of sight paragraph only restricts targeting.

Measurements from a colossal (or BE, which have the same rule) are made normally.
