Okay, I've been sitting on this idea for a few days now and figured I'd at least contribute something to this forum by tossing it out there. (For all I know it'll be ignored and languish in obscurity, but who really cares about that? :P )
When Hyperion was first spoiled, AJ the Ronin and I ended up tossing around ideas for a Hyperion/AFG spam list, first at 100 points (with 4 AFGs and 4 Hyperions), and then a 50-point version with 2 AFGs and 2 Hyperions, most likely using Ravyn for access to Snipe and her feat. The 100 point version will likely only ever exist in proxies and Vassal, but I do have 2 AFGs and plan to get at least 1 Hyperion, so the 50-point version seems somewhat feasible to put onto the tabletop, but I ended up coming up with this variation:
Ravyn's Laser Light Show (50 points)
Ravyn (-6)
-Manticore (8)
-Manticore (8)
-Hyperion (18)
Arcantrik Force Generator (10)
Arcantrik Force Generator (10)
Arcanist (1)
Arcanist (1)
I've got everything for this list except Hyperion (which I plan to get as soon as it comes out), so I could actually field it. I've always been fond of taking Manticores with Ravyn, as Covering Fire and Veil of Mists offer some good board control, and I'd often take the AFG at 50 points as a "third jack" that could benefit from Snipe and her feat. This version just takes out the infantry and puts in Hyperion and a second AFG to make a wall of metal and laser fire. The Covering Fire templates can help screen the Hyperion much like Stormwall can do, while the two Manticores and Hyperion can smash down most (if not all) other heavies in melee. This version has room for two Arcanists to keep all of the machines running despite enemy ranged attacks, and can deal out Concentrated Power to the Myrmidons, as well as stretching Ravyn's focus even further, if necessary.
It's probably not a highly competitive list -- any ranged unit can deal out more attacks to better exploit Snipe and Ravyn's feat than the myrmidons, and anything with Stealthed battlegroups or even a LOT of heavy armor (like Karchev) can just weather the storm to get into melee. But it does look like it's a fairly fun option for casual play, and I suspect it'd fare well against the more balanced casual lists I've seen.
