Thread: New Zealots?

  1. #1

    Default New Zealots?

On the PP website there are Holy Zealots on the front page, it says they're metal so I'm guessing it's just a re-box. At least I don't think they've been re-sculpted.

well dang, guess I need to pick up the rest of my Zealot unit sooner rather than later. At the same time its a little bit lame we aren't getting a Zealot resculpt.

The Zealots are one of the few old models that I think look just fine. Now that we've had our Exemplar and their bat-swords replaced and the Reckoner plastic kit on the way, I am quite content.

I think the real question is: Why would you have less than 30? :P

Agreed. On the whole they're pretty decent looking and a pleasure to paint. Some of the poses could stand a bit of work (like the "dunking the basketball" zealot), but on the whole I'm happy with them.

Because they are too hard to assemble, obviously. Though I suppose what has been said is true, they aren't bad, I just like new things. Though this also reminds me I need to get around to getting a pStryker and converting him into a Zealot in honor of my first game with Vindictus.

Convert him into a monolith bearer... And if you do, post pics!

That would be a hilarious diorama for Gencon or something. Vindictus leading a pack of zealots where one of the zealots is a Feral Warpwolf (with tiny hat and bombs), another is pStryker, and another is a Shredder or something. You could even convert a Pyg or a Gobber into a Monolith Bearer.

I've considered buying the blister-packs of a bunch of other faction troops to make into a zealot unit for my Vindictus army.
It seems every time I pick something up they come out with a re-packaged user-friendly version of the same thing ><.

That might be a bit beyond my crafting skills as the monolith is not a separate piece. And really, would you want to give him any remote position of power in the Protectorate?

Even more impressive if you can get that Feral Warpwolf onto a small base.

I like the idea of adding robes to all of the enemy casters and making an entire unit of zealots.
In 2013 I have made a pledge to take time for myself and paint an hour every day. It takes me about 2 hours to paint a basic troopers so I made a point system to keep track of my goal. 2pts small base, 4 pts med base, 6 pts large base and bonus points for special figs. You should make your own pledge. Do 90 pts in 90 days, or even 30 points in 30 days. You can look here to see how I am doing, More flames and bones here!

I should do this with all my zealot-bonking victims. The question is though... Even after cutting off the original zealot head... How can I get a Titan Cannoneer's head to fit on that body without toppling the base?

More thinking that he was so converted, that he became that fervent Plus, you know, to piss off other Cygnar players

I bought Skarre and am in the process of converting her to be a Zealot. I'm taking the lazy route by green stuffing her a facemask and then just painting her in Menoth colors.
Sometimes a caster has to do the job themselves!
    pKreoss kills: eStryker
Thyra kills: Siege, Saeryn, eLylyth, eHexeris
Harbinger kills: Xerxis, Grayle, eKaya, eDeneghra
    Vindictus kills: eSkarre, Ossyan

Yeah my original plans for pstryker was to Cut the blade off, leaving the hilt, and convert a mace head atop of it, and cut off the gun hand to hold a bomb. Then sculpt a bandanna over his lower face, while painting in my Menoth colors, I'm open to other suggestions though.
