Mod Idea: Wraith-Kraken

Ok, so somewhere else on the forums I saw an image that had been photoshopped replacing the Stormwall's legs with those of the Storm Strider. Now that gave me an idea. I like what I've been seeing of the Kraken, but I'm not sold on the bulbous insectoid chassis.

I pulled out my rather basic image editing skills and drafted this:


What do you think? I would say having the tentacles come out of the chest cavity, and the Hellblaster mounted over the shoulder (with obvious greenstuff work) would make it nicely antisymmetric. Now, if only there was a way I could just purchase the parts I need instead of having to cannibalize a whole wraith engine...

Nifty is what I say O.o The cannon on the shoulder looks a bit wonky but the body of the wraith engine + the base of the Kraken is pretty cool concept I would say this is definitely a mod work looking into.

Holy Crap i love that concept. Even just the rough mock up is looking fairly impressive. Would really give it that fear inducing effect it should have :P Im looking forward to playing with mine when i pick it up from my friend who just got back from Lock and Load.

Turn the front arms of the WE into the front legs of the Kraken, use the original front legs as the back legs. Problem of too many arms solved.

Could be a nice easy conversion to get the Kraken the same legs in the back as in the front

If the conversion I have in mind for my own The Kraken works out I wont be using the legs/crotch from the kit or the resin claws from the tenticles... You'd have to bitz order your own metal tenticles when they become available in the parts store though. This does again assume what I want to do for mine works. Not gotten my hands on the kit I want to replace the legs with yet to make sure the scale would be alright.

Tell us more, please. I'm not getting a Kraken before I decide on how to convert it properly.

Replace the head with that sensor array in the front, the legs with the legs, and the cannon with that one on the bottom, turret mounted so it actually looks like it could aim at something on the same table. Need to make sure the legs would still fit alright onto a colossal base though.

I want to commend the OP on a creative idea. As a guy who actually has an extra wraith engine body, I'm grateful for the inspiration

cut off the front vent of the Wraith Engine and put the unicorn cannon there.
replace Wraith Engine head with Kraken head
put Kraken tentacles where Wraith Engine arms are. have a Nechrotech (or Mechanithrall with cybernetic upgrades) riding it and using the minigun like the pyg on a Dire Troll Blitzer.

<3 yes. Looking at the torso more closely, when mounted I could probably tilt it back more. That would emphasize the shoulders more, and with some greenstuff, I bet I could make a mount for it!

I would definitely be looking for a different head than the Wraith engine, but I haven't decided which yet.
And yes, more spikes is always an option.
