    Default What am i missing?

    Hi all,
    I need some advice of what to get next, playing 50 point games I am using pretty much all i have and am obvoiusly lacking something, my lists seem to be able to counter one or two things but dont have the diversity to get over the line, so what would you recommend as the next purchases to give me balance. I prefer Khador before Mercs as suggestions if possible, or good fluff reasons why the merc works for khador).

    Buy a few packs of spare bases, lug along your Khador MK II Faction Deck (or the Forces of Warmachine: Khador book), and proxy, proxy, proxy! The best way to decide what you want to buy is by trying it first.

    If you don't want to do that, well...I recommend the following:

    Warjacks:
    Any. I enjoy using all of them. Magnetizing the plastic kit will net you 4 different jacks to use (you just can't use them simultaneously).

    Units:
    Iron Fang Pikemen + Unit Attachment
    -- lots of bodies, generally tough to kill (especially with Iron Flesh + Greylord clouds), hard-hitting, speedy (especially with Defensive Line)

    Solos:
    Man-o-War Drakhun
    Yuri the Axe

    You are missing the Behemoth.

    IFP+UA has already been said, its a solid choice. Kayazy with UA are also clutch at that level.

    Fluff reasons for Mercs to work for Khador? Well they get paid to, of course.

    For warjacks I would say a spriggan is a must and as far as character jacks goes the behemoth should be your next purchase.

    The only good reason for a merc to work for Khador: They want to continue having a place to live.

    There are a large number of merc models who won't work for us because we razed their lands. Not on purpose, you see, we were just passing through on the way to Cygnar and Lael.

    What is tripping you up with your games ? Or what do you play against the most that gives you issues.

    yes to both of these. also, if you don't mind snipping off an extra axe, or have a spare fist laying around, you can get a sixth jack, the Kodiak. It uses the same chasis as the other four, and adds some nice versatility.

    It's hard to suggest much beyond the staple go-to's that people have already mentioned (Behemoth, Spriggan, Kayazy, IFP) without some more specificity into what is giving you trouble.

    This.

    I mean, I don't see a lot of Pathfinder (the Manhunters, the Great Bears kinda with Relentless Charge and the Old Witch has Weald Secrets) or a lot of magical attacks (just the Greylords), but if were those things that are tripping you up I assume you wouldn't need anyone to point that out to you. Most of the suggestions so far are very good models that can be very effective in many lists, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll solve your specific problems.

    Thankyou all for the suggestions; for those who asked, the trouble seems to be that everything does what it should but it is never enough to get the army over the line. That is, no matter what I do or how much I kill, they always seem to have more left than I do, then I get wiped. At the moment, all the games are SR2012 scenarios, I've mostly played against Hordes (legion in particular are a problem) and the sheer number of beasts on the field at 50 leaves my list rather underwhelmed. The armies I have had most success (though still lost) against where Khador as they just become mammoth attrition sessions. Admittedly I am still learning the every game is a learning experience, I am trying tactics presented in the stickies and discussion, plus advice form the guys at the store; I guess as I originally wrote I feel like i'm missing a piece of the puzzle.

    Try proxying or buying Behemoth , he's beefy and lays the smack down on Heavy Jacks/Beasts pretty easily. Tie up his beasts with the Eliminators (and if you can or have use 2 units of them they are awesome) or WGDS. With eSorscha on feat you should be able to put down a few heavies pretty easily especially if you bring Beast 09 and Behemoth. I would shy away from Zerkova right now not because she's bad but she has a higher skill level then the other casters and focus on a caster that you click with. For purchases the Assassins + UA are pretty nice , good for tying up units and if given the chance easily can by pass them for a easy caster kill. If you are getting wrecked by debuffs eEiyrss besides Zerkova is our only answer to getting rid of them.

    Never fear MErcs, i see you have Sylys and he is amazing. i highly indorse the rest of the suggestions so ill add in there a few Non-Khador. Mind you i Love the Motherland Deeply. but when a highered gun can assist my victories ill pay that moneys out.

    IFP Black Dragon UA - This will make your IFP the Black Dragon varient. this will help greatly. they have a Mini-Feat that is extremely Defensive but can also utilize Precision Strike to chose your damage on WarJacks\Beasts. with eSorscha on Feat turn this guys should trash 2-3 Beasts if you split them right. Charge a couple beasts with the unit do what you can then pop mini Feat to keep them around another turn =]

    Kell Bailoch - I use him as a Solo Hunter or throw him with some Widows + Marksman to maximize my Infantry stopping power. High Magical Gun will prove very useful to bypass Menoth's tricks. As well hunting down those pesky Incorpreal Solos Cryx has.

    Both Eiryss - Prime Eiryss is alway in my pSorscha lists. Feat turn + pEiryss Disruption Bolt says you have an entire turn without worrying about caster or Jacks. this is Extremely potent if your assassination fails. either Eiryss will work well with eSorscha. her feat is sexy and will make your WGDS, Kayazy, or Doomies murder EVERYTHING.

    I highly Recommend Aiyanna&Holt. Aiyanna can give a model/unit Magical Weapons, and she can "Mark" a Target, +2 to Damage rolls? yeah that will count towards the Double effect with eSorscha. Holt, he is great defensively to protect Aiyanna or himself. as well he has two Gun PIstols of Doom... Quick Draw, Vituoso, Gunfighter... he is a Hoss.

    Gorman - He wins, for 2 points you get a close range stealthy Grenadier that can tie up a jack or unit causing much mayham. he also has his own Smoke Bombs to give out cloud effects =]

    Mercs are a Staple for us Sadly. our in-Faction options kinda stink but hey, we're conquerors the conquered should assist in our tribulations. I used to hate the idea of running Mercs and wanted to be a purist in the idea of no MErcs for my Khador lists. its impractical completely, Don't get me wrong, our faction can pull off some amazing Faction Pure lists but we are so much better with some mercs in the ranks. Valechev Attached to Nyss Hunters says What? but hey i am getting ahead of myself. get used to what we have in the faction and then get some mercs to fill out your ranks. i would still consider the 4 MErcs above though, they will improve your games quite a bit.

    Khador: 6 casters 150 pts. Skorne: 1 caster 18 pts.
    Malifaux: Ramos
    Infinity: Yu Jing, Exclusive Yuan-Yuan

    Here's some adjustments I think might be a tad more efficient. I personally can't stand the Destroyer. Might as well spend 4 points more for a extra shot, more armor, more damage boxes, 2 AP fists, and still be able to attack in melee while shooting. Black Ivan is cool with Harkevich though.

    Proxied Big B and doom reavers today, totally misused them both but, Behemoth is great, didnt get to see how the doomies performed as they died before they could get close (I think saxxon to give them pathfinder would have helped immensley given the terrain), but will try again.
