Epic Alexia/Boneswarm Mashup

Hey guys! My PG buddy, Askew37 wanted me to help him out with a conversion of the sexy new Alexia model, by combining it with the Boneswarm minion warbeast. I think he got the idea somewhere here, he can chime in and give credit where it is due, because the idea is fantastic. So he cut the poor pony's butt off, and the top chunk of the Boneswarm, added a brass rod, and entrusted it to me. So, after a little putty work:

I did some touchy-feely skeletons getting their bony mitts on the horse's bony rear, and even a little grinning skull to make the transition feel more natural. Then I slapped some paint on it:

I also tossed a tombstone on the base at his request, to make it look as though maybe the skelepony monstrosity was bursting forth from a grave. Let me know what you guys think!

This is fricking amazing. Very good execution on a tricky concept. I remember the original inspiration which was Alexia1 surfing a boneswarm. This version is just too cool for words.

I saw a similar idea on a Darran Wraith once and thought it was so cool, but wasn't fond of Wraith himself. This though, this I want. Amazing work. This pushed eAlexia way up on my list, though its the custom bone work on the back that really knocks this out of the park.

I am with this feller... the Guy i am doing commission work for would probably love this for his eAlexia lol.

The original idea came from someone doing the same thing with Darragh Wrathe. As always, you've outdone yourself Ravenhollow. This model will be collecting many soul tokens this Saturday.

You've done a great job integrating the horse into the swarm and the paintjob is amazing, too!

Started this over two months ago but didn't come around to model or paint at all due to work... I'm just too slow

I'm going to be very happy, should mine turn out half as nice as yours!

I agree that it's a great conversion, but it's the paintjob that really sells it. Those glowing skeletons just look brilliant, and contrasts so well with the back and red on Alexia. Wonderful.

I should also note for people who are planning on trying this for themselves - I did have to add a little bit of putty to the saddle to get Alexia to sit properly - because the angle of the horse is a little different than the original model, she needs a little boost/tilt.

I first saw this in the Cryx forums done on Wrathe, as mentioned before. It's fairly popular and it's usually commonly mentioned that eAlexia would make for an alternative, tbut this is the first time I've seen it done. Great execution and the paint job is spot on! I like this a lot.
