In another thread, I heard that there is some "exploit" that can ignore shield guard. Could someone please tell me what this is about, or point me to the relevant thread?

basically shield guard says that the unit with shield guard must be a viable target to use the ability. so if you want to ignore shield guard you turn your shooter just enough that the shield guard model is out of LOS but you can still see your target. this way the model with shield guard cannot be a viable target and you have basically ignored it.

On the one hand this is an excellent example of finding a loophole in the rules to allow you to win.
On the other hand it's a munchkin method of tweaking things so that you win by careful positioning and shooting out of the corner of your eye, as opposed to by either shooting up the shield guard model, shooting the target too many times, or finding some other way around it.
On the gripping hand, whichever of the above you espouse, it's probably a really efficient way to immensly irritate the player using Shield Guard.
I will not use this exploit, no-one has yet used it against me, and I hope it gets errata-ed into non-existence!
