This. Side Step is part of attack resolution.

Something to keep in mind. Vlad3 has both a reach and non-reach weapon and Flashing Blade lets you choose a weapon to make the attacks. If you're careful about it, you can do a thresher with the mace and still keep something alive to kill with the spear to get the side step if necessary.

You can indeed cast spells between attacks, just not between hitting and side stepping. So, you could do the following:

Cast flashing blade, charge, make impact attacks, complete movement, cast flashing blade, make first initial, side step, cast flashing blade, second initial, side step, cast flashing blade.

Something to keep in mind. Vlad3 has both a reach and non-reach weapon and Flashing Blade lets you choose a weapon to make the attacks. If you're careful about it, you can do a thresher with the mace and still keep something alive to kill with the spear to get the side step if necessary.

Or just keep a heavy in melee range, but that's tactics discussion.

Its all the same so as you do not cast spells to interupt your movement or between rolling to hit and damage.

Getting a little into tactics here, so I'm locking. But yes, you can cast between attacks, but not between attack and side step triggered by that attack.
