For a sissy, you sure painted one damn nice Thunderhead.

That's some gorgeous NMM, though I feel the NMM is so bright on the model that the coils are almost lost

As beautiful as this is (and its beautiful!) I cant help but feel that the fingers and the big screws next to his head are a tad too clean.
    Great job!

Yeah, I'm stoked about this! Cheers and kudos to DFGStar for really putting himself into this piece. I'm really pleased with how it's come together!

    Slick Man! Smooth shading.

If youre looking for C&C your battle damage/corrosion is in odd/unrealistic places.

But if youi're not looking for C&C, super slick: be proud.

I must know what colors you used! And if you used an airbrush, any tips you might have!

I want to do my Menoth in a scheme like this (just switch the blue for red) and I am having a really hard time putting a good gold palette together.

Thanks in advance and this Thunderhead is one of the best paintjobs I've seen on here!

yea, i realized that, but one thing i've learned and found pretty helpful is when painting models you dont always have to make it perfectly realistic for models to look interesting i deliberately put the damage where it was in plain sight and i could show it off.

but you raise a good point nonetheless, thanks for CC

I'd agree with this - the coils don't really seem to have the usual galvanic glow about them.

Also, there seems to be a repaired break to the cable on the arm with the open hand (as opposed to closed fist) which leapt out at me in these pictures.

The Coils do seem kind of dull and uninteresting.

Over all great work. makes me want to buy a TH and have Ghool paint it =P

And I'm not to first to say it, I'm sure, but Thead's pose always reminds me of this:

Very nice. And NMN popularity seems to rely more on fashion than whether it's the right choice for a particular model.

Some gorgeous stuff coming out of this forum just recently. The NMM is spot on, really well thought out. I culdn't even begin to attempt it. As has been said though, the coils are very dark on comparison. But maybe OSL effects on this would be a case of too many cooks? I'd leave it, lucky customer.

Hey now, I can do NMM, I can do OSL, but combining the two I've never tried. It would require weird spot lights in different areas and it's not something I wanted to attempt on a model that I was painting for somebody else. I decided that the look of NMM would make this model pop more than the look of OSL. I think a seperate OSL thunderhead would be something to achieve in the future. The "break" on the cable arm is actually not a break, it was slightly bent in the package, and rather than break it further I decided to leave it.

Nothing's perfect, buddy. but thanks for all the "constructive" criticism! your models are looking great, maybe you can give me some tips on OSL + NMM in combination? Thanks!

I noticed I didn't include this picture above, so here's another angle.

Absolutely amazing blending. I'd love to see you work, get a sense of how you flow! Solid color selection and bold composition.

Your paint fu is strong, NMM not withstanding! ;-)

I love your version of Thunderhead. I don't care for the white on them so much and your NMM is spot on. I have been trying my hand at NMM and it is very difficult, and time consuming. Great work I love your take on him. I'm sure the owner is quite pleased.
