What's the difference between Incissar of the Dawnguard and Incissar of Ios?

    **********SPOILER************

So basically he becomes the military commander of his house rather than full on house leader, he is not yet in charge of Ios though that will likely be Vyros 3. So Ios is still ruled by the ruling group but Vyros is now the foremost military commander of the Retribution and now has the official title of being the military leader of one of the Great Houses.

To further clarify what Demeritus said, remember that there are other Dawnlords. Vyros was already more or less pre-eminent amongst them, but now as the Incissar he's officially The Boss. Also, even the Nyarr Consul does not have power over Vyros in military matters concerning the House and the Dawnguard, which means he's a pretty important guy. He does not, however, have total military control over the Retribution; that still resides, for now, with the Nine Voices. He's only in charge of the Dawnguard.

Which is technically true, however it mentions in the Retribution book that house Nyarr and by extension House Shyeel (as they are apparently VERY good bed fellows) are disproportionally powerful militarily as they have access to the premiere Myrmidon provider as well as the arguably most elite military house in Ios.

I wonder if, much like the rest of the factions, this is how we'll see Retribution/Ios potentially setting up for civil war...again. Vyros3 makes a push for ruler of Ios, with Shyeel support, so Vyros and Rhan, but the Mage Hunters, Kaelyssa and Garryth, resist persuading Ossyan to back them with House Vyre's Myrmidons. Question is, what side will Ravyn choose. If both sides are claiming they support Scyrah's cause, she may be in a tight spot.

I highly doubt that Vyros making a power grab is likely to result in a civil war, given that the only reason that the Houses turned on Ghyrshyyld is because he was INSANE and comitting atrocities. They seem to have been quite fine with having a strong, central leadership, providing that leadership isn't crazy. Vyros is not crazy. It's also quite likely that Vyros might get put in charge if he proves to be instrumental in the defence of Ios from the Skorne, which is very possible.

Besides, so long as Vyros keeps committing resources to the Retribution and it's agenda, why would the mage hunters even oppose him? He just personally gave them the nation's colossals!

Because they realize his goals are not to actually help Scyrah, but to use The Retribution as a political tool to wield and gain power. Remember, The Retribution is considered a fanatic sect of Iosian society. Mage Hunters are pretty much the absolute zealots of the bunch. If they see Vyros making a power grab using Retribution as either a sword or shield, he may find himself without any Mage Hunters, especially seeing as how Kaelyssa really doesn't like him much to begin with, and she's the big boss of the Mage Hunters (well Ravyn technically is, but she was put there by the Will of the Nine Voices, so while her leadership is followed, if Kaelyssa told the Mage Hunters not to support Vyros, I doubt Ravyn would be able to convince them otherwise).

I think the Mage hunters would go with who the Nine Voices tell them to go with. Also Vyros is likely similar to Rahn in that he does care about Scyrah and the fate of his people but that he is also a pragmatist and knows this can push him where he wants to go.

My book is on its way (W00T ninja shopper) but I have to ask, is Vyros making a power grab such an issue to the Retribution? They will have someone in power that publicly backs them, have committed resources to their agenda and philosophy.

Right now, even with him taking credit as the person that returned Nyssor, he is doing them a boon since finding Nyssor and bringing him home proves that throwing their lot with them was the correct course of action since it brought result for the whole of Ios.

The repercussion of bringing Nyssor and Scyrah together is something they should be more worried about, but I'm sure n one have even consider that it may not be beneficial to do so.

As a minor point: Dawnguard Scyirs and their marshalled jacks can move through epic Vyros with Coordinated Strike (since he now has the Dawnguard keyword) but not his original form

    I feel violated...

Also is anyone else going to call Hyperion with Vyros the Falcon Punch, since it can actually be guided by a Falcon?
