    The first part of your rebuttle is incorrect. According to errata; A model cannot stand up during the same turn is has been knocked down.
    So you NEED the Battlemech UA in order to atleast have the opportunity to sac movement and shoot.

    Secondly, yes you are right about promoting. Though along with this, you have hit something I was reading that pushes this tactic further into the ditch.

    Weapons Crew "pg 71 WM Prime Mkii": If the Leader of a weapon crew (the model on the large base) leaves play it replaces a Grunt in the unit only if the Grunt is within 1".

    But please, any out-of-the-box thinking when it comes to Khador should be more than exercised, due to our rigid, telegraphing, army.
