Hi, iam new to this game and got myself a legion battlebox and a strider deathstalker this day and thinking of what should be my next purchase..
One of the heavy kits for a scythean or ravagore and a shepherd or forsaken.
id get a new warlock because its hard to learn legion with lylyth and really hard to learn the game with a fury five warlock. and i would also get another beast or a unit of striders if you plan on continuing using lylyth and a shepherd or forsaken too.
if you're new, i've found the best casters to start with are the really tough ones. while lylyth is a good caster, she takes some finesse to use. i'd say get epic Thagrosh next. ethagrosh is practically a heavy beast himself, so having that extra muscle on the field can help a lot until you can used to the fine art of Legioning.
Tnx guys, will try to purchase them maybe on my next paycheck.. So for now i have 15 points? Iam i counting it right?
I would also advise you get a Shepherd or two asap. Even if you upgrade Lylyth to a better warlock, Legion really starts rolling when your beasts can run full bore. Shepherds are an easy cheap way to make that doable. Plus, I am pretty sure the Legion battlebox is 14 pts, so adding just one of the little ladies gets you up to 15 pts; great for Journeyman leagues.
Got any color scheme ideas? I was thinking of making the beast look like lavaish with the back part of the carni look like rock
I'd like to second the advice of getting a Legion Heavy Warbeast Kit, and picking up another 'lock. If you kitted out a Ravagore or a Scythean, you'd have a very strong 'core' to future Legion lists that you put together. Coupled with the Carnivean's animus, your heavy Warbeasts will fairly survivable to all but concentrated fire from another heavy warbeast.
Unfortunately, the Battlebox make-up of 4 shredders is a hold over from MK I, when multiple hits from Shredders would increase their damage output. Most Legion lists will include perhaps 2 shredders, at most.
One of my first units was Striders, and while they are an absolutely excellent unit, I do feel like they require a bit of finesse over the board to get the most out of them. If you're still learning the game, I might encourage you to try your hand at the excellently cheap Legionnaires. At 6 points, you can get a full 10 man unit to tarpit up the board and protect against Assassination while your Ravagore drops burning hell on your opponent, and your Carnivean sizes up heavies to wreck.
A Carnivean, Ravagore, Deathstalker, Legionnaires (Full) list weighs in at 29 points and could find someone like Thagrosh1 competently at the helm, leaving a little extra room for another solo or lesser Warbeast after factoring in his Warbeast points.
Good luck!

Warbeast: Animus
Archangel: Nonimus
Thanks for the advice everyone. For now i might stick with the battlebox and the strider just to get to feel the game but would lean towards the recommended stuff next to buy once ive finished painting these first.. Will be posting the sample color scheme once ive finished the shedders since looks like theyre not much worth having 4 on the group
here is a sample paint scheme iam going for... constructive criticism are always welcom :P

I really like your painting. almost wish i went that direction too. virtual rootbeer!
Looks great! I lava it!
tnx guys. any ideas on what should the basing be since iam still waiting for some inspiration
legion can't go wrong with snow for basing, seeing as how that's most of what they're running around in. and in your case, your bright red/orange models would stand out really well on a stark white snow base.
Put some more pics up the shreader looks awesome what did u do with the bases in the end
