of the color combinations listed, I prefer the third one. The grey with green highlights.
My own are dark black with Sanquine hi-lights and cloth and blood red glows. They look very evil.

As someone who just picked up Retribution, this thread is fantastic! I would say that I prefer the more neutral color schemes (tan, grey/blue) due to the large area that it will cover on the jacks/dawnguard. I will say that if you can pull off that orange color correctly, it could make an amazing looking force. Good luck deciding!
I really like number 5, orange/brown. that could be fall camoflauge for the elves. Can you run a line that way?

Awesome thread!
I wish I had the Photshop skillz to do this. I do like your example of Dubstep's black & purple. It would be interesting to see on your leader/myrmidon comparison example later which is fantastic.
All that said I'm still a studio fan, but this is great for alternative scheme ideas!
I think my opinion may be a little biased. The second row of models is really close to my scheme. Simply add a little maroon here and there and you have it.

I like the third row of those, but my choice would be the Blue and Tan posted above. I'd probably change her hair color as well with that though.
the grey scheme is similar to one I'm thinking of doing. My other choice is icy blue and lighter grey. Love this thread.

Since everyone is so pleased with them I am going to make a little tutorial on how it is done. Should I post it over in the painting forum perhaps? It isn't exactly painting , but it might help some people out.
I'll make the tutorial for GIMP, which due to it being free, everyone can use. Unfortunately it runs VERY slowly for some reason, all the response times on the inputs are sluggish.
That grey/maroon/turquoise is pretty awesome, and I'd prefer to keep your stuff unique, as much as I would like to steal it (artistic integrity and all that). I'm having trouble thinking of arcane glow colors for the minty fresh and reverse menoth schemes, as the normal color might not pop in the same way. All in all the the whole process has been quite tricky.
All the colors but the blue this time around are pretty much even, which I guess leaves the final decision to me. Well....maybe I will just let it simmer for another day.

Oh, I like that... i'll be interested to see how it translates to myrmidons.

And then TK said...... I thought it was pretty axiomatic that the Reckoner is bananas.
I don't think any Retribution color scheme conversation can happen without the myrmidons being considered. I've seen a lot of really great schemes that work great on the infantry/casters, but don't look so great on the 'jacks.
hugely prejudice, but Key Lime green FTW!!
secondly, the maroon colour

I actually really like the one Ultraraider posted. I've considered that one myself, largely because it seems to me that the artwork in the Ret Forces book makes them look more like a warm gray than an ethereal white, and with a few scratches and mud stains that looks really frickin' cool, especially with the warm brown bringing in the autumn look from the artwork.
Thx guys. Ill be getting my first jacks in the mail this week so I can post one here in that scheme if you all are curious.
I was thinking a black/red scheme would look badass on the myrm's.
As in black armor with the glowy parts in red. (changeable to blue/green etc)
I mean elves from the dark forest hunting in the darkness.
first all is quiet, to quiet...then red eyes flare up all around, machines activating and bang kill.
add in a darker gray to get cloth, machine bits painted up and that should look nice I thing.
I really like that purple on black look - it's sharp. If I could do my models over again, I would totally go with something like that
Here is a neat tool I've used a few times. It does give paint names in reaper colors but they make a nice product so it isnt the end of the world.

Its a bit diff than my Kaly but same colors are used in the process

I have issues deciding on a color scheme myself atm,
the advantage of ros units is that they lend themselves well towards military colors, on the other hand there arn't that manny examples of that being used that I can find online.
There are a few green camo and grey color examples that look nice however I am looking for a real desert theme and it seems no others have posted pictures of this if it even exists at this point for Ros models.
The second thing I'm looking into is a scheme I saw in one of the last santa barbara wargaming videos (it has hyperion on the table!)

anyone know what color the armor plates are done in? or even if this player has a alias on these forums and possibly a painting treat about his ret forces?
