    Default Basic weaponlock question

Alright I've tried to find the answer to this and I've seen it played two different ways. So Jack A locks and arm on Jack B, when jack B's turn come along it breaks the lock. Now the question is does Jack B get to make it's initial attack with the weapon that was locked, I know it can make it's initials with any unlocked weapon but do you do this check before or after the lock is broken.

You only get initial melee attacks with weapons that were not locked, but not with weapons that were locked.

Reading over the errata a few times, the lock break check is done before initial attacks, at which point the arm is no longer locked, hence when it comes time to make it's initial attacks, it has no locked arms, and so it can make all it's initial attacks.

The 2nd last sentence of the Headlock/Weapon Lock errata only applies if you fail the initial lock break attempt.

Errata: Once a lock is broken, the model may use the weapon that was locked to make additional attacks during it's activatioin
Emphasis mine. It can't make initial attacks, only additional ones.
EDIT: The line does matter as it's the only line that states what happens when a lock is broken.

I had the same question as well and it took several readings before I was convinced you lose your initial attack. The key, as JosephKerr pointed out, is the word additional in the errata text.

So we have 3 for lose the initial and one for don't lose if you break the lock so not quite fifty fifty but still not really clear.

Per the errata quoted above, you do not get your initial attack with the locked weapon; if the lock is broken, you can make additional attacks with that weapon.
