    Default Complete Noob

    Hi All

I have never done any table top wargames or worked with models before but decided I liked the idea of Hordes so I would try it out. As this is a new thing I thought I would buy some small pieces off ebay just incase as I dont want to waste a lot of money if its really not for me. I managed to get the Circle Orboros and Skorne starter boxes but did not realise I would have to assemble the models as well. I dont want to go out and buy a drill etc to pin the models. Can this be done just with glue and green stuff? as I have read in several places the skorne starter pack is a nightmare to work with. I can't seem to find any guides that assemble pieces without pins, does anyone know of any guides I can follow.

    Hi BabyJam,

I do not play wargames as well, but I play the IKRPG, and I don't know why I bought the metal Orboros starter. As far as I know, the models can be easily assembled only with glue.
Before you bought anything, have you seen the new Hordes box? Maybe it looks interesting to you...

    See you in the forums!

    Welcome!

Superglue is all you need unless you want to fix every gap in your models, in which case you'd want greenstuff as well. I really recommend the Gorilla brand superglue (make sure you get superglue and not the original stuff!).

The Skorne pack has some pretty hefty arms, but I'm not sure if pinning is mandatory as long as you can keep a firm grip on the model while the glue is drying. I personally wouldn't recommend using Zip Kicker, which makes the glue dry instantly but also makes it more brittle. If you want to try pinning, all it really takes is a paperclip and a drillbit of the same size. Having a Dremel tool makes life easier, but I used a big power drill when I first started out and did just fine.

Thanks for the replies. Kaya is assembled but not had chance to look at the rest yet. Another quick question, as I bought these off eBay I'm not to sure if I have mk1 or mk2 stat cards as the both sets of cards I have look different. How can I tell?

Point cost is the easiest way for someone unfamiliar with the game. If the beasts are all under 15 and the warlocks have single digit, bonus you have mk 2 cards. Points in the 50-120 range is mk 1.

Looks like 1 starter box is mk1 and the other mk2 lol. hopefully there is not that much difference in stats as I don't really want to buy a faction deck just for 3 types of models. I think the quick start rules has the stats so I will compare

They will be very different and the rules have changed for the abilities. PP will send you replacements for,the mk 1 cards if you go to the missing bits section on thier support page. Also you can order individual cards in the future if you dont want to buy a deck.
