Default Ryans guns, 2x Mage Storm?

So a recent look at the beloved B13 card got me noticing the exact wording on Ryans mage storm:
"Make a ranged attack with this weapon..."
Note the singular there. Since Ryan has 2 magelock pistols an I am a rules lawyer, is there anything preventing me (or, better said, my enemy) from a double mage storm?

Yes, its an *attack. That takes the place of all your initial attacks. So just 1 mage storm.

God, two Mage Storms would be sick.

I'd pay 4 points for just her if she could do that.

Lets be serious, you're already paying 4pts for her (alright maybe 3 and a point for Lynch)

I think that Watts is worth a point. A gun mage costs 1 point, and while maybe not better than them he's certainly as good. So 1 for him, 1 for Lynch and 2 for Ryan. That unit is just undercost. Nice to have that in our army though

I pay 2 for her and 2 for Lynch. Poor Watts......

But yeah, Snipe'd Black 13th can be quite legit.

The way I see it, if they had prowl as an all-the-time ability, Ryan and Lynch would be excellent 2 point solos, and I'd gladly pay 2 points for each of them. As it stands, I'd probably still pay 2 for each of them, but I think Prowl would make them really great solos.

Watts is... Mostly useless, I guess, but hey, it's an extra shot!

It's funny that everyone wants Ryan and Lynch, I've seen Watt's MVP more times then both of those due to the fact everyone wants Ryan died on the first die roll of the game and Lynch quickly follows suit due to Fire beacon. This frequently leave poor Watts all on his lonesome and unassuming.

I totally agree with ShockwaveIIC. For some reason, Watts always, and I mean always seems to be the one who accomplishes the improbable. He's always the first one to get into melee, and enemy attacks always seem to miss him. Furthermore, he seems to not be restricted by positioning, and thus dances around and pulls off long ranged snipe shots, or frees up friendlies with Black-Penny. In my last two games with him he managed to peg a DEF 19 or DEF 15 eFeora who was camping focus/upkeeping escort for a few points of damage. He's a pro, and you know it. (And he's got a bad@$$ model.)

... and really, he grants them Prowl, which is amazing. Can you imagine if he was a UA that granted prowl to a unit? He'd be worth more than 2 points then. (Looking at you Trenchers...)

For me Watt's lack of immediately useful rules like the other two, especially since his prowl was supposed to work with smoke 'em if you got 'em, which they no longer have, have unfortunatly combined with overall worse dice rolls than basically all my other models.

Except the trencher cannon. Which has only ever shot my own stuff.

Prowl still works with Ryan and Magestorm. Quite well, actually.

Sorry OP, only one *Attack: Magestorm. Mk1 was so much more powerful b/c of cumulative bonuses from the unit, but Magestorm wasn't a *Attack anywhere for any reason. It was a Chain Attack, and your target had to live through 2 seperate shots and be in RNG 12.

And she is immune to her own Magestorm. I like walking her forward and shooting something close to keep her under cloud effect & prevent any charging her.

I'm still unsure wether or not she can charge and *Magestorm. That's a discussion for another thread

Any *Attack that is attached to a weapon can be used as a "Charge Attack". If it is a *Attack not associated to a weapon, then it can not be used as a charge attack, unless the *attack itself states it can.

This is most likely a dumb question but i wanted to be sure, are you allowed to use any of the attack abilities (Sniper, brutal...) with the mage storm?

Read the card..."attack type - each time this model makes a normal ranged attack, choose one of the following abilities:..."

Menoth 62/120 points and 3/4 Warcasters
Cygnar 130/172 points and 1/11 Warcasters
