Default Looking for help with fluff continuity

    Hey guys,

just a quick one: Is Groeshade's ambush on the Harbinger discribed somewhere properly? I bought the old books to catch up on fluff and after Escalation there seems to be quite a big gap before Apotheosis. Haley and Deneghra's fight is here on the webpage and in a NQ, but I couldn't find anything about Goreshade. Also, it seems like Vlad's fight is nowhere to be seen, it skips from rushing towards Cryx to him being tended by the Old Witch. I'll be thankfull for all pointers.

Thank you very much! Wouldn't it be great though if PP released a fluff compilation book. I'm pretty sure it would a big hit

Yes please. Even if they just started with the older ones to enable high sales of newer NQs, a compilation book of all the old fluff (particularly MkI era) would be a huge boon to newer players who would otherwise be forced to rely on finding after market releases on the third party market. Putting together the book allows PP to make money directly and gives those players easy access. Win-win.

Even an old player like me would buy it, and I'm sure that's not an isolated sentiment, particularly with the IKRPG rolling around this year (which I am buying too, fancy that).

LET ME GIVE YOU MY MONEY, PP!!

I know it's heresy, but I really like the GW division between background and rules. I appreciate that PP has an advancing timeline as opposed to the static setting of 40K, but as a returning player to Warmachine I find it very hard to keep up! I'd really appreciate it if I could just buy the rules, and buy a separate compendium of background material.

Players have been barking up that tree looking for squirrels for the last 8 years...

Well they are a small company, and I think that is why they probably can't write the book. It would be cool if they made a book called "The Wars of Immoren" that had all the fluff and maybe some rules for the IKRPG an adventure set in a war zone (sneak through your friends' game of warmachine!).

I wish people would stop buying space marines so PP could buy GW's assets, expand everything, and fix Warhammer 40k.

Do you have any idea how many deaths would occur from this...

Ok, another question. Escalation ends with the looming battle at the Orgoth Cairn. The online story about Haley and Deneghra expands the battle... then comes Apotheosis and suddenly everyone is home and preparing for another battle at the Orgoth temple?? Am I missing something there, because that looks like quite a gap there. Also, Gaspy's transformation into epic form and battle with Daeamortus is only very briefly described. Is there some more info in a NQ maybe?

As I like to tell when talking about Escalation...

"So eHaley, eVlad, The Harbinger, and The Testament walk into a room with eDenny and Gaspy waiting for them."

    "And what happens next?"

    (Spoilers below)

Me: Nobody knows. Save that they all live, that's where they end it.

edit: might've gotten the book wrong, it's either that or legends.

Noooooo! Keep the SMurf players out of my warmachines! (I'll take players of all the other factions, but SMurfs can just be it's own game)

I've thrown my 2¢ at this like...3 times but...Yes. Fluff compilation would be immensely appreciated and would top my purchase list (with the possible exception of the Judicator).

I would also buy a compilation of the fluff. I know little outside of what happens in prime. I can't bring myself to buy the old books when all the stats are different now. Not to mention how hard it would be to find them all.

I'll take care of that for you, I promise it will get to them. Just make it out to Cash to avoid any confusion.

This thread couldn't have come at a better time. I re-re-re-read Prime, Escalation, Apotheosis, Superiority, Legends, and Wrath earlier this week and I've been looking for some info on the in-betweens. The beginning of Superiority has the Witch Coven bring Terminus back from Urcaen. Gaspy and Terminus fought, right? Are the specifics written in NQ?

I would assume that they fought at the Temple of Garoddh. If it isnt in Apotheosis it could be in NQ 7 which has the end of that battle in it.

I just image my opponent and I setting up for a game. All of a sudden a group of people walk over the table and start setting up models on the table.

    "Can we help you?"
"Yeah we are going to sneak through your battle!"
    "Uhhhhh ok...."

Does anyone have the continuity written down?
I know what order the books came out, but not where the NQ's fit with them.
I didn't get into the game until Legends was out, and didn't start getting the NQ until MkII.
