We wrote an article today on this exact debate:

Although its always hard to 'rank' models I think with the 6 colossals there is opportunity to at least explore their uses and see which ones have more potential than others.
I think I will go with this list.
Stormwall
Galleon
Judicator I think Hyperion can make it above Judicator with certain casters, but with others will fall below.
Kraken
Conquest
Not enthusiastic about Conquest at all. I have proxied him a couple times with no real results out of him. The games weren't losses, but the wins had nothing to do with him. Killing 3 storm blades in a game doesn't make you worth 19 points in my book. At range, we have better options, and in melee, we have better options due to the fact that he blocks so much of the field, preventing other pieces of my army being able to maneuver. What do I need a p&s 22 for, when I can get it done with pow 12 charges... P&s 12 has got to be Khador's golden number. I remain unconvinced that Conquest brings more to the table than behemoth.
The RHQ video listed Hyperion's AoE at 5". I couldn't quite read it in the video.

That's the thing: neither of those really seems to have any synergy with Konquest aside from being able to give it Superiority.
pIrusk is an infantry caster pur sang. I'll readily shell out 13 points for the Behemoth with him in a 50 point list, but that's the limit right there - I need my infantry units and solos.
Strakhov is pretty much defined by Overrun. If you take a Konquest as his only jack you're severily limiting his potential, and if you take a Konquest and a reach jack (or any solid jack that can make good use of Overrun) the rest of your list is probably going to struggle - I've found he wants some serious substance to his lists to make the feat effective enough when good Overrun possibilities are denied.
Neither will be terrible with a Konquest, that's for sure IMO, but there's a fairly wide gap between "not terrible" and "pretty good", never mind "awesome".
In order of most-used to least-used, this would be my purely-speculation assessment;
1) Judicator
2) Stormwall
3) Galleon
4) Hyperion
5) Conquest
6) Kraken
This is based primarily on two factors; 1) Obviously how good the actual colossal is, and 2) how infantry-heavy the relative factions are and therefor how much points they're comfortably willing to spend on any kind of warjack, much less a colossal.
The gap here is also not necessarily that large. I'd put the Stormwall and Judicator about even, but protectorate runs more 'jack-heavy than Cygnar and overall will probably have more lists that comfortably include a Judicator.
"If at first you don't succeed, label it version 1.0."
Nevermind me.

Hyperion works well with most of the Retribution casters. Ravyn, Garryth and pVyros love him for the versatility (echos of the Phoenix) versus the investment in Focus. Ravyn in particular gets some good use out of the Hyperion for this reason. Ossyan and Kaelyssa also benefit from this, although their synergy with other jacks in faction makes choosing the Hyperion more difficult. Rahn is the only caster that doesn't really benefit from taking a Hyperion, but his spell list is quite synergistic with it. Speaking of spells, many of our casters have spells, feats or abilities that aid our Myrmidon Colossal. These include Vyros' Mobility increasing movement to a respectable 7"/ 12" threat range, and Inviolable Resolve increasing ARM to 21, Ravyn's Snipe granting a 14" AOE 5, POW 18 gun, plus 2 additional 16" guns and her feat increasing the likelihood of getting the critical RFP on the ranged attack, both Kaelyssa and Rahn can prevent the enemy from charging the Hyperion, Ossyan increases it's focus efficiency further, can grant Shatterstorm to it's attacks making both the secondary guns and the Sweep attack brutal, and increases it's ranged damage output on the feat turn (Banes beware the 3-4 die POW 9's from the AOE), the list goes on. Even our lowly Arcanist can grant the Hyperion the ability to make a power attack or increase it's melee potential to P+S 22.
In conclusion, the Hyperion is a versatile warjack that grants Retribution excellent damage potential in both range and melee for minimal in-game resource investment. I would rank it as a very solid Colossal, putting it in the top of the middle of any ranking.
Edit: Vyros' Bird's Eye no longer grants 360' arcs to 90' arc weapons as per Infernal ruling. Bo-urns.

My two cents.
Amused by how many people don't rank Hyperion.
I think Hyperion is the coolest looking of all the Colossals. To each his own.
Hello Ryan Gosling. lol I actually watched that movie a few days ago.

WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.
The worst part is that nobody forgets about the Galleon, because it's awesome.
NoVA players: Come to Game Parlor Chantilly on Thursday nights for some Warmachine/Hordes action!
The Protectorate of Menoth: We're on a mission from God.
Galleon will change the game for human Merc casters WAY more than Stormwall does for Cygnar. So even though Stormwall might be slightly better in a vacuum, I think Galleon easily wins the "most playable" award. Once the "new shiny" wears off you will see a higher percentage of Merc players using their Colossal than any of the others.
The most played will be Stormwall sense it complements its armys so well and can disable Jacks or zap multiple infantry and has a defense move
The least played will be Kraken sense it clears infantry in a faction that can do this all ready for 10 pnts (Harrower) and is in a infantry heavy faction
And I guess the general buzz is that Ret is not a real faction hens why there colossal was left out of so many ratings
Cryx are tough guys. Tough guys wear pink.
Indeed. Hyperion doesn't look like a slouch by any stretch of the imagination, I just don't know enough about Retribution to make a strong statement about its effectiveness in context. On the surface, however, it does not appear to have quite the offensive range and power of Galleon.
Semper Paratus Apparatus Belli
It can shoot from 2 to 6 POW 12 (at range 12) and a single POW 18, AoE 5 (at 2 less rgn) with Critical Consume. It also has 2 open fist.
And although the Galleon wins on raw power (I mean more RGN and POW with AoE) the attacks on the Hyperion are simultaneous. That in itself can be advantageous.

WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.
Like a lot of things in Ret (perhaps it's because they're new/under-developed) I think Hyperion is the hardest to qualify - aside from a single ridiculous attack there seems little worth making a fuss over i.e. it seems quite bland. And it's in a faction not known for running jacks super well.
EDIT: In the right list I think it will be insane though.
... I used to think that Ret was going to be characterised by nifty abilities; but now I think they're going to characterised by very specific (and in some cases situationally powerful) attacks.

Hyperion with snipe and standing next to a Arcantric Force Generator, can shoot 16" away. It is more likely that you will see it shooting the 14" with just snipe, but that with it's movement is no slouch. It will certainly be better with some casters than others.
The book was available at Lock and Load a couple of weekends ago, all of the stats were spoiled by various sources shortly afterward.

I think the kraken is being very underrated, It can produce some really stupid levels of damage, and with a few of our casters has a 15" threat range with plenty of access to ghost walk and curse of shadows it has some of the best mobility. Full Corpse tokens + Gorman's Rust + Dark Shroud + pGaspy/pSkarre/pDenny = ps30 attacks, that'll fix most problems.
I am sad that everyone rates the Conquest so low. Not that I disagree...
I am again worried about playing against Cygnar. Those POW 12 templates will be hard to ignore and it will be hard to counter. I had a Stormwall take 2 coloms off Behemoth in 1 round of shooting yesterday. It was horrible
1. Galleon
2. Stormwall
3. Judicator
4. Conquest
5. Hyperion
6. Kraken
I think its hard to define what we will see on the table most versus what is good on the table. As a Cygnar player I already own a Stormwall and he sees the table top tomorrow.
Personally I think the Hyperion is a good to great Colossal, but not that many people play Retribution to start so you may not see it as much. Judicator is hard to say for me at this point, but I have a feeling we will see it.
The Galleon was going to be a purchase for me at some point, but I am stuck with the fact it comes out later and right now I have the Mountain King waiting to come home. The Kraken is also a good Colossal, but suffers for the Faction it is in. The Conquest is a badass model and will see the table with a chance to move up the rankings once someone finds a niche fort it.
