Post Vayl, Disciple of Everblight - 35pts

    Howdy,

I was looking for advice on the list below:
    pVayl +6
    -Ravagore -10
    -Scythean -9
    -Typhon -12
    -Shredder -2

    Spell Martyr -1
    Deathstalker -2
    Deathstalker -2
    Shepherd -2
    Forsaken -2

I used chiller on the scythean, combined with incite for an easy attak roll and heavy hit.
I used typhon for incite and sprays as an anti-infantry gun, as well as, dark guidance guard (std).
The ravagore is there to shepherd the opposing army forward and the shepherd is there to manage the ravagores fury.
The spell matyr has been a turn 1 rampager delivery system, i usually use it to pull a warbeast out of the opposing warlocks control area.
Deathstalkers are for solo hunting, or to help the ravagore to shepherd the army forward.

The 3 games i've played so far i've lost, mostly due to an oversight on my own part:
Game 1 was lost to an eDoomshaper 14" trample - i couldnt get the critical pitch and was only hiding behind a shredder with 1 fury.
Game 2 was lost on scenario - Poor deployment lost my deathstalkers early (primary control contesters) and then i forgot to contest after that.
Game 3 was lost on my opponents turn 2 (before my second turn) to Bethayne T4 - belphagor charged turn 1 and 2 and i was caught in range of gallows on feat. + Helion sprays. I only had 1 fury.

My Questions would be, do i need more practice? or are there some modifications to the list / startegy i should be considering?
Currently boxed the Cryx Arsenal and now enjoying the Legion of Everblight.

Deathstalkers are not the best solo hunters, they're single wound infantry Decimators that can occasionally hunt solos.
Solo Hunting is the primary job of Harriers, Shredders, and Anyssa Ryvaal.

All in all, the list looks good. I'd just say practice abusing Oraculus and seeing where each beast is best applied.

Looks like you are counting 1 too many points for the Shepherd.

I'm going to take a Raek instead of the 2xDS

I really do not like Typhoon at 35 points. I like to jam with heavies
Vayl, Disciple of Everblight 35 Points
    Shredder
    Angelius Ravagore Scythean Seraph
    Blighted Nyss Shepherd
    The Forsaken

You could drop the Seraph for Raek and the deathstalkers or an Anyssa. I am not sure why you have two heavies and two solos worth of infantry killing in your list. Is your meta heavy infantry? I mean I hate to say it but if it is why not just run Saeryn

Saeryn, Omen of Everblight 35 Points
    2 X Harrier ( or Raek) Shredder
    Angelius Ravagore Scythean
    Blighted Nyss Shepherd
    1 Spell Martyr
    The Forsaken
    Deathstalker

    Edit
Thinking about it some more an Angelius against infantry is good. Descent Def to help keep it alive and overtake and the animus is gold at 35 points when you don't have many models to contest with.

That list is fairly standard just practice. Getting a well timed alpha strike or 2 is key to playing vayl successfully
