So, that Skorne dude on the back of the Animantarax. Since he doesn't seem interested enough in the battle to do anything useful like provide a buff, what exactly is he doing back there?

I am pretty sure he is responsible for directing the Animantarax. I would imagine that in the heat of battle, trying to yell at it wouldn't quite cut it, so using a loud horn to trumpet signals to it and possibly to the others on the animantarax would be a way to work around that.

Yes we do! the dude with the horn is the skorne equivalent of a mahud,the controller of war elephants from ancient wars. And if your not a history buff the skorne equivalent of the crazy guy who diect the mumakil in the return of the king
