    Ok, a few questions.

How long do you have to get ready for it?

Which warlocks are YOU most comfortable with?

Do you have a list(s) that you are already comfortable with?

Is the format regular steamroller? Deathclock? etc. what can you tell us about the tourney?

I have a couple of ideas from your list of models but really need some more info.

It is a regular format steamroller and I is either the 10th or 11th of August. I have only played circle for a month or so I traded my cygnar for these models. The lock I am the most comfortable is Grayle.

Ok, lots of info for you to look over.

Go here for some of my notes on my experience with deathclock. you can ignore the time issues somewhat (you will still have dice down to deal with) but there are other points that you might find of use.

I stated in the above post and I will state it again, one of hte most important things you can do is read the steamroller rules beginning to end. Knowing whether or not you need to contest an objective/zone is very, very important.

Be prepared to split your forces so you can clear your own zone/objective while contesting their zone at the same time. You must be prepared to do this. If they decide to ignore objectives/zones and just go for a kill, you may just get a win by control points then.

I am going to throw out a couple of lists for you. It will be up to you to practice them some, just bringing the list will NOT BE ENOUGH. I strongly, strongly recommend just laying them out on a board with various objectives and markers to see what your 1st turns movement and whatnot will look like. You can find turn activation order problems, and a number of other potential problems that way.

    Grayle
    Stalker
    Pureblood
    Feral
    Gorax
    Druid Wilder
    Tharn Wolf Riders Full
    Blackclad Wayfarer
    Tharn Bloodweaver
    War Wolf
    Feralgeist
    Tharn Ravager White Mane

    Reinforcements
    Woldwyrd
    Wolves of Orboros min unit
need 1 more point of reinforcements, not mandatory to use it all but recommended. Would put a warwolf here I think.

Its hard to optimize with what you have, you really could use the LOTF or morraig in there and should you happen to get him pull the white mane and the war wolf to put him in.

This should give you a good mix to work with. Storm rager will start on the white mane and probably stay on him till he's dead. Plan on splitting the whitemane, feralgeist, war wolf, and wolf riders off to contest objectives. bloodweavers can remove pesky upkeeps and are good vs liviing infantry. use the rest to move up and take control of your zone. The wyrd brings a sudden bust of antimagic that may catch your opponent off guard. Remember reinforcements are only used in couple of scenarios though.

Don't forget the feralgeist can be used on your beasts.

You will, of course, have to adjust your plan because "no plan survives contact with the enemy". And your enemy may be very uncooperative with the dying process.

There is still alot of discussion going on about Grayle and I recommend you read all those posts, and the links that are found in the 2nd post. http://privateerpressforums.com/show...the-Farstrider

    Now kreuger.

    Kreuger
    Warpwolf Stalker
    Pureblood
    Feral
    Gorax
    Druid Wilder
    Tharn Wolf Riders Full
    Blackclad Wayfarer
    Tharn Bloodweaver
    gallows grove x 2
    Blackclad Wayfarer

    reinforcements
    Woldwarden
    Warwolf

I made some changes and put kreuger in. This list should destroy light to medium infantry without question. You have kreugers feat, chain lightning, wolf riders with lightning tendrils, (or)feral with lightning tendrils, and a berserk stalker. Should be enough anti infantry for most occasions.

Weavers again for anti magic purposes.

Gallows grove is so kreuger can hang back some and still use lots of lightning. They can also be used to get a weird angle shot with tornado which can take someone by surprise.

Blackclad should give you a charge range boost for getting those heavies before they get you.

Between Grayle and Kreuger I would take only one of them. Both lists have a pretty solid focus on infantry destruction and heavy killing as limited by the models you have. Of the two, kreuger is actually more likely to be forgiving of mistakes and can support his army with deflection. Both lists are relatively weak vs heavy spell casting like against cryx.

So you still need another warlock. I recommend kromac to lock down heavy magic use.

    Kromac
    Stalker
    Pureblood
    Feral
    Gorax
    Druid Wilder
    Tharn Wolf Riders Full
    Blackclad Wayfarer
    Tharn Bloodweavers
    Shifting Stones + UA

    Reinforcements
    Bloodtrackers Full unit + UA

If you are using this list its probably because you are worried about dealing with magic. If thats the case then cast bestial every turn BEFORE you move kromac. You cannot cast in beast form, don't forget it. Why? Because goreshade and some others have the ability to shutdown casting as well and you don't want to move into that.

Lastly, Mohsar. His feat only helps vs horde and channeled spells. You should avoid taking him until you are pretty experienced with circle and confident that you will be facing lots of hordes.

    Mohsar
    Pureblood
    Feral
    Gorax
    Druid Wilder
    Druids + Druid UA
    Tharn Wolf Riders Full
    Blackclad Wayfarer
    Tharn Bloodweavers
    Shifting Stones + UA
    Gallows Grove x 2

    Reinforcements
    Bloodtrackers Full unit + UA

This is a very defensive list for hte most part, druids are there to help protect you from ranged attacks and from magic attacks. you can hide most of the army behind them but hiding behind a cloud will likley not contest an objective. Mohsars salt pillars can be used to shield yourself from certain angles or just to funnel the enemy where you want them. if they spend time removing salt pillars thats less attacks on you.

Groves extend your offensive spell range while keeping mohsar safe.

this list is weak vs lots of heavies. make extensive use of pillars and other terrain features to keep them off you till you can get your feral in there to mop up.

Anyway, sorry for the long read. Check my math again on those lists I have been interrupted several times today trying to type this for you.

Let us know how it goes and what changes you make to your lists

Well I only got one game in (three new people showed up so lots of battle box games). I played the Grayle list againt-

    Vyros
    Sphinx
    Griffin x2
    Arcanist x2
    Full sents with ua
    Full invictors with ua
    Scyr x2
    Stormfall archers x2

We played close quarters, I went first and advanced and cast SR on the white mane. He we advanced and tried to aoe bomb the weavers and rolled really bad for deviation doing nothing. Second turbo moved and shot up three sents with the riders then light caved out to let the white men slaughter all but 3 sents with a corpse token left over. Everyone else advanced. His turn he attacked with his sents killing three riders (I love/hate sents) and cra'd my stalker for min damage. Third turn the weavers charged the invictors and killed three. And stalker bezerked for two more and an Arcanist. Pureblood sprayed for damage on a griffen and scyer. His turn saw a griffen kill a rider and miss the white mane. The invictors charged the stalker boxing him with Vyros help. My turn I killed Vyros with a primaled ate warped feral with no fury used.

I enjoyed the Grayle list it played fast and fun :-) can't wait to try the other lists.

Glad it went well. Sounds like you had some good luck with the white mane too.
