    Default cavalry question 2

Just got a Major Katherine Laddermore. My first mounted unit. I read in the rule book about cavalry and had a few questions.

The tall in the saddle rule states that a model ignores intervening models when making melee attacks, so does this mean this model can melee through a small base model to a small base model behind it since it has reach?

It does exactly what it says it does. Assuming a large-based cavalry model, it can ignore all intervening small and medium based models when making a melee attack. Medium base cavalry models (Currently just medium 'jacks with certain warcasters) can ignore intervening small based models when making melee attacks.

Ok just making sure, is all. I had a hell of a time with my people I play with over the normal LOS targeting with base size rules. Had to double check if was exactly different for cavalry.

may i add a small question regarding Tall in the saddle:
It also comes in play when reagarding charges.
    But what about assault shots?

From my understanding it is still a shot and therefore the "tall in the saddle" rule does not apply though on can still charge and ignore intervening models, mak the impact to the first line and melee/chargeattack into the second-line-targed - but no assaultshot.

Assault lets you make a ranged attack, while Tall in the Saddle only affects melee attacks.
