So I've been trying eVyros out for a few games now, and was using non-tier lists similar to lists I typically use (Invictors, 2x SFA, etc.), and I wasn't have much luck. I decided to try his theme force, and I was totally surprised by its effectiveness. I played against a 35 point Circle list that had the following:
pKrueger
Warpwolf Stalker
Woldwarden
Max Wolves of Oroboros +UA
Morraig
Bog Trogs
Blackclad Wayfarer
(might have had other things, I can't remember all of his list)
Here is what I took:
eVyros
Hydra
Griffon
Max Sentinels + UA
Min Destors
Min Destors
Thane
Just for kicks, we decided to try radial deployment since neither of us had never tried it before, and were playing for straight caster/lock kill.
He went first, ran mostly everything up, Krueger cast Stormwall.
I positioned my destors on the flanks, and ran one north and put one of them in B2B with his Warpwolf, with the other 2 close to it. Other destors ran south to flank. Thane ran up the middle and got into B2B with his Woldwarden I think. Sentinels run, and I put the Hydra (with 3 focus) just outside of Krueger's control area, and attempt to snipe, which missed even with a boosted attack. Griffon moved to south side with Destors. I feated.
He killed the north destors and the Thane, and brought his bog trogs in on my southern Destors, hurt one but didn't kill any. I made a move (1 destor killed was outside of control area for feat, silly me). Moved his wolves of oroboros, and Kreuger feated.
I moved my Sentinels up a little bit due to the SPD reduction, and engaged and killed a wolf or two I think, took another shot at Krueger with Hydra, which missed again.
We traded kills, I was able to use Sentinels Vengeance to great effect, and I cast Synergy. I started Vyros, who did a ride-by attack on his Warpwolf (btw, ride-by attacks are amazing with getting to move back out of range once complete) and used Quick Work to kill the Blackclad (love that ability), then activated Griffon which killed a couple wolves, bringing Synergy to +2. Charged the Warpwolf with the Hydra, which hit with both initial attacks, damaging the Warpwolf significantly. Used the free headbutt, boosted to hit, and boosted damage, killing the Warpwolf. The Sentinels charged the Woldwarden and reduced it to a pile of sad rubble. Southern destors moved and killed some more wolves. I mopped up, leaving Kreuger as his only model. He tried an ranged/magic assasination run after killing a Sentinel. He failed, and my Sentinels killed him with their Vengeance attacks. I still had 5 sentinels, the officer, and the SB; 2 destors, the griffon, the hydra, and eVyros at the end.
I absolutely LOVE his tier list now, and this is the first time in as long as I've been playing Ret than I can remember that I did NOT take Stormfall Archers. Admittedly, I felt a little naked without them, but the extra first turn SPD for the Destors and Thane allowing them to tie up key pieces until the Sentinels were able to assist.
Griffon and Hydra and truly money with him. For a 50 point game, I'm thinking of adding a Phoenix to get more out of Lock the Target and contribute to the Synergy chain.
I know I might be biting off more than I can chew, but I can't wait to try this list (or my 50 point version) against an eLylyth list to see if it can beat it.
I do have a couple questions for anyone that decided to continue reading this long about eVyros...
1. Are his blade and gun magical weapons?
2. For Twister, do you have to designate a target, or can you use it for the cloud effect only?
