Default The Pig Brick - 35 Points Thornfall

Yesterday i remember how much i hated the Troll Brick. So i start to think about a Pig Brick. Here is my solution for a 35 points Pig Brick. In the center of the brick moves Lord Carver. He casts Mobility and Batten down the Hatches, for Movement, immunity to Knock Down and more Armour. The Frontrow is filled with 2 War Hogs, the Flanks are secrued by 2 to Gun Boars. In the rear you found 10 Brigands. For support you find Targ (for healing Warhogs or give the Gun Boars extra range attacks) and Saxon Orrik (his role is to give the Brigands Pathfinder, so the Brick dosent slow down in rough terrain). This leaves me with 3 Poinst. I thought about Gudrun in the Front Row or a Razorback Crew that falls behind and looks for some targets they can shoot or they use Advance Deployment.

So the list would look like this:

    1x Carver
    2x War Hogs
    2x Gun Boars
    1x Targ
    1x Saxon Orrik
    10 x Brigands
    1x Gudrun or Razorback.

What do you think about this idea ?

I played a 25 point game with Lord Carver last night and won against Legion. Batten down the hatches is a great spell. ARM 21 War Hogs are amazingly resilient. I would drop a Gun Boar and something else to make room for Slaughterhousers. On Feat turn they hit like trucks.

I'm keen to get into pigs and had a look at the big guy with the cleaver too...

Lord Carver BMMD, esq III +6
    *War Hog - 8
    *War Hog - 8
    *War Hog - 8
    Farrow Brigands (max) - 8
    Farrow Brigands (min) - 5
    Alten Ashley - 2
    Saxon Orrik - 2

Seems like its not possible to play him without bricking up. As far as I can tell he can dig in with the brigands while running up the table with a big lump of battlegroup that consists of him and block of warbeasts. At the end of turn 1 that should put everything about 12" forwards and fully bricked up. Then from turn 2 onwards you can push forwards with the big brick o beasts while the brigands either continue to trog forwards or start plugging away at stuff.

I havent been able to try it yet though

I tend to use a lit a SH heavy thornfall list and be very spread out. I'm not sure if I've ever tried a brink what-so-ever with him.

If I were to try a "brick"

    Carver -6
    Max Brigands +8
    Min Brigands +5
    4x Gunboars +20
    Targ +2
    2x Razorbacks +6

Thornfall so All brigands start in a dual clump AD with Razorbacks on either side.

Turn 1: The brigands both run to get 16" up and get in on objectives. Razorbacks walk up 4 and Dig In. Carver Mobilities, rushes forward and Quagmires largest Brigand group in front. All the Gunboars run up to 14" just behind the brigands
Turn 2: Hogwild to shoot what you can, advance if can, and Dig In. Then all the razorbacks and Gunboars can shoot without issues to pour in 7+ AoE each turn under Batten Down.
Turn 3+: Always activate the brigands last where possible to clear their melee range so that they can Hog Wild to shoot, advance Dig-In.

Get a few CounterBlasts in place and when the enemy gets to the Brigand line a few more AoE get laid down.
Now in darkness world stop turning, Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power, Hand of God has struck the hour

the problem is this is not a real brick as Bricks are more about the infantry and we do not have any over laping infantry buffs to have it be a true brick I.E the kriel stone the U.A and W.A and a fell caller with a infantry upkeep spell on them this is a brick. I like these lists as they are basic carver lists. Carver has two buttens and if you press them right you will Hadouken your way to victory! Just saying I would not call these lists true "Bricks".

That being said I would go with the Razor back crew as I have been getting alot of success with them recently and I have never personally had much luck with Gundrun.
