Default Hardest model to put together?

Your up late at night and just finished painting your new PP model. You are looking forward to playing it tomarrow so you jump into putting the model together. 1 hour later you relies the legs are on backwards and you were shipped the wrong head or you put to much pressure on a joint and snapped the arm in half.

Tears start forming in your eyes and a string of curse words come out of your mouth and the idea of putting your mutant model into a tube sock to use as a weapon springs to mind.

Welcome to the chronicles of model horror.

I will go first the hardest model I had to contend with is the Cryx - Stalker. This things legs are twigs and in odd angles to get them on. I glued one of the legs to my hand after holding them in place for a hour and ended up putting all 4 legs on backwards by the end of it. Not a good night at all

Cryx are tough guys. Tough guys wear pink.

    The original wraith engine.
I should not have to boil my models in order to be able to bend them to fit in the correct holes.

Metal Carnivean, one person does not have enough hands to put all the legs on so it stands up on the base! And like a complete sadist, I own 3 Carniveans, two Scytheans and two Ravagors all metal! WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF!
?Those of you that survive will walk at my shoulder, undefeatable and forged in blood your victories will be spoken of in legends yet to come. They will know you not by name for from this day on you have none, they will know you instead as the invincible Gods of War, the wise, the cunning , the kings of battle! Lords of war! You will be my Tyrants!?

I have a few nominees for difficult models to assemble, and keep assembled:
    Nyss Hunters
    Metal Cyclops Savage
I have been having a terrible time putting together my favorite light warjack - the Vanguard

Cylena Raefyll & the Nyss Hunters for me were the hardest models to put together. Three to four point arms is a nightmare!!!!!

painting goal: have everything painted before gencon!
Circle modles left: Grayle, eBaldur, Woldwarden, Gatorman Posse, Gallows Groves.
Ret models left: ghost sniper, Narn, Arcanist, Skeryth Issyn, Magister.

Cryx Stalker and the metal Crabjacks. If you want it to stay together, you have to pin all the legs, but to get it on the base, you've got to do all 4 legs at the same time.

JK I think that only someone who hasn't put together Nyss Hunters asks this question. If you had, you would know they take the cake.

I still have two unassembled metal savages that I gave up on. The Plastic ones weren't much better though... Plastics in general seem to be hit or miss in how well they go together. I'm not impressed by the quality control in them.

I never liked putting Steelhead Halberdiers together.

Nyss Hunters. I just finished mine. I'm not particularly proud of the paint job or anything, in the end, I just wanted them done. Lots of green stuff, lots of glue and in the end, lots of meh looking models.

Currently working on the Iron Fang Pikemen. Stubbornly refused to brass rod, I broke 2 during assembly just to remind myself I was a fool. Replaced one, fixed the other, but I only see terrible things in their future.

I'm waiting for some 10 man unit of models with spider legs and spindly arms holding giant swords. You know they'll show up eventually, and that they'll make sure all of the joints are on the smallest possible connection points possible.

Horror stories of the Nyss Hunters abound on the forums. (Un)fortunately they don't work for Everblight so I don't own them.

From experience the metal Cyclops Savage was a fairly major pain. Making the metal Carnivean's feet level was also questionable. As far as I can tell, it isn't possible.

Wow, no one mentioned the Angelius?? it was so hard to get all the wings on and then there were huge gaps that needed to be filled with green stuff. Pinning the smaller wings is almost impossible because they are so thin.

Its actually put me off buying a second one...

oh and Striders were awful too.

the only reason my cygnar dont have nyss hunters is because of all the horror stories. prob why they have really good rules as PP knows it takes dedication to put the unit together

and tanglethorn, yes I had problems with the Angelius which is why my 2nd one is not yet put together. also with carnies and their variants of which I have 2 of each.

This sounds like the beginning of the most frustrating text based adventure ever made.

    >Examine model
This particular warjack comes in seventeen different parts, some of them are in a small plastic bag while others are loose inside the plastic box. After a bit of work, the parts are sorted in to small piles, with each pile representing a part of the warjack.

    >Use glue to assemble first pile
The claw, hand and shoulder piece are carefully assembled.

    >Put down left arm.
The left arm is no longer assembled. The left hand is stuck to the thumb of your right hand.

    >Call friend and ask if he's okay with proxies tomorrow night
Your friend picks up the phone; he doesn't seem happy about proxies and, after pressing the issue, decides he'll organise a game with another person tomorrow night. Your phone is now stuck to your left hand.

    Game Over - Score: 2/100

Edit: My vote would go for Terminus; I've been watching my housemate struggle with that thing for a couple of days now. It's a beautiful model, really impressive to look at, but I'm worried it'll explode in to a thousand pieces if I look at it for too long.

Seriously, I just finished up building an Extreme Warpwolf/Ghetorix, and I can safely say that was easier to put together than a totally stock straight-out-of-the-box Terminus. The wings. THE WINGS. They haunt me.

On the other hand, my Stalker went together great!

No, wait, the breeze from my fingers hitting the keyboard was too much for the little guy

    Nyss Hunters. hands down

Terminus was just zap-a-gap and expoxy putty for 'problem areas'. Much easier than Scaverous, any crabjack, or Mortenebra.

This guy has WAY too many pieces that need to connect to each other.

    Step:1
    The base-bone connects to the leg-bone. [ Check ]

    Step:2
    The leg-bone connects to the hip-bone. [ Check ]

    Step:3
The hip-bone is also the other leg-bone as well as the torso-bone. So, the hip-other-leg-torso-bone connects to the arm-bones that both connect to the sword-hands-bone that needs to fit over the head-bone, while being positioned just right so that the dangley-hoses-bones can connect to their sockets in a reasonably appropriate fashion. [ Wha...?! ]

Thanks goodness for brass rods. Now, has anybody figured out how to not glue my fingers into this mess?

Hands down the Harbinger. One of the hardest models I've ever put together for any system. She fell apart on me so many times that the doesnt have anyone pulling her around or the chains to do it.

The old metal Warpwolf Stalker. I drew blood chewing my own knuckles in frustration at that damn ankle join.

The punchline is that now it's the strongest joint on the model, and the tail keeps falling off.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who noticed this and thought it strange.

I mean, leaving some parts off to have better access to paint is one thing, but at least mostly assemble it and dry fit the rest before you paint!

Around these parts the Horror stories are about Mortenebra and Uhlans. But thats because no one uses the Nyss because they are so Fugly.

I had a buddy that moved away a while ago that had his Harbinger setup the same way. Now I know why. I think it looks better this way anyway. Gives her a more awe-inspiring personality.

Some of my worst were, Savages, Leviathan (was mostly rods), Carnivean (but not the Scythean), the Errants were a PAIN. Angelius wasnt that bad for me. Havent done Nyss Hunters. Once I learned to wash and score my models I really havent had problems and havent had to pin much. It's pretty good considering my clumbsy hands and the excessive amount of banners on Skorne.

Original Behemoth. All that weight on one foot, and more importantly one hip joint. Even with the pin it makes me nervous. First time I tried to use him he came out in 4 pieces...

My other was drago. Not that he's normally hard to assemble, but when you open the package and discover he's missing 7 parts, and has two left legs he is pretty impossible to assemble until the replacements show up
