Default Beginner using 25 pt skirmish list with eHaley

    All,

Here's my second post to these forums. I've given some thought, and read some articles, and here's what I think would be a decent 25 pt list for eHaley.

    Cygnar Strike Force
    Skirmish, 25

    Major Victoria Haley (+5)
    -thorn (8)
    -squire (2)
    -defender (9)
    -centurion (9)

    Arlan Strangeways (2)

Thorn is in there as much for the character as he is because I think he's cool, especially the disrupter lance. Also, his ability to move when he channels a spell means I feel like a lot of my time will be channeling domination into scary warjacks and running the hell away.

The defender is the range firepower who gets a lot of boosting and temporal acceleration to assist thorn in keeping scary 'jacks (like the ARM 25 Khador one) away from my lines (and Haley) as well as destroying any warcaster foolish enough to get in its LOS.

The centurion basically holds up a flank by preventing charges on its person as well as being pretty scary in his own right. He is also who Haley is bounded with so he'll have a 6" movement.

The squire and strangeways I think are pretty self explanatory. If a jack only needs one focus, strangeways gives it. If something needs repairing, strangeways fixes it. I'm hoping that liberal use of decelaration will keep him safe from ranged attacks.

    Thoughts?

    Cheers!

At 25 points I might drop the Defender down to a Hunter and take it with a Journeyman Warcaster, for a couple reasons:

    1) The Centurion is your dedicated heavy hitter. Neither a Defender nor a Hunter will do much against a closed Devastator at range. If you can't get it to open up by Dominating it then it doesn't matter which gun you shoot it with; your best bet is to punch a hole through it with bonded Centurion or take out its cortex with Thorn. If it doesn't matter which gun you shoot at the Devastator, I feel like the Hunter + Junior combo brings you as much ranged threat against larger models as the Defender. You lose out on some sniping potential, but Haley + Thorn can take up that duty with magic attacks.

    2) Reduced Focus drain. Junior can run the Hunter and upkeep Arcane Shield just fine, leaving Haley more focus to dedicate to melee attacks or spells. Being able to camp more isn't a bad thing either.

    3) Haley's low durability. You'll want that +3 ARM for Haley or her battle group. With 8 Focus and Arcane Shield on her, eHaley is actually somewhat tough. She won't be able to go toe-to-toe with dedicated assassins or heavy warjacks/warbeasts, but it may let her survive that all-important enemy feat turn.

Junior's magical weapon and boostable gun are also great helps in a pinch.
