Default Daemon Vortex Blast & Sacrificial Pawn

If the Daemon Myrmydon hits a model with the Vortex Blast and that model uses sac pawn to deflect it, which model is used for the 2" pull effect and where is the AoE placed?

According to Macallan's recent ruling, the AoE is placed over the original model.
    Dunno about the other part.

+edit. Im wrong, vortex is not a 'normal' aoe

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

Huh, that's an unexpected ruling. Seems to suggest that you leave the AE on the original target but pulls from the sac pawn'd guy, then damage whoever's in the AE ?

Based on that ruling, I am curious to see what would happen too.

Macallan's ruling refers to "normal" AOEs. This is not the case with Vortex Blast, however, because you need to follow the sequence exactly:

Since the AOE does not come into existence until after the push, it is, in fact, centered on the model that was directly hit.

    For clarification sake then:
Daemon uses Vortex Blast on Vice Scrutator Vindictus.
    Attack hits.
There are 2 triggers on the attack hitting: Sacrificial Pawn: "When this model is directly hit by an enemy ranged attack..." and Vortex Blast's "If it directly hits an enemy model...push models within 2" of the model hit 2" directly toward it in the order you choose."
According to my understanding of the rules of resolving effects from Primal pg 237:
Step 7 resolve effects that cause the attack to hit a different model: Sac pawn takes precedence and Zealot is hit instead.
Step 8 Resolve AoE hit/deviation. This step is skipped because of the wording of Vortex Blast.
Step 9 Push & then AoE placement happens here, using the Zealot as the center of the push and AoE effect.
Models under the AoE take pow 12 damage roll. Depending on his distance from the Zealot, this could include Vindictus.

This sequence, as is my understanding, would also apply to things like Kaelyssa's Energy Siphon, which would take place in step 9.

    Yes, that looks correct.
