    Default Ravagores with Saeryn?

Just wondering, anybody tried this? I'm thinking 2 Ravagores, because Saeryn doesn't have any way to increase threat (and most don't bring a seraph with her) you could run double Ravagores to force people to come and play nice with your Angels, or other heavies. Problem is it means your army is pretty pillow fisted, maybe try adding the BFS. Dunno, s'all theorymachine just now.

Anyone tried running her with double ravagores consistently? I'm thinking something like:

    Saeryn +5
    Angelius 9
    Angelius 9
    Ravagore 10
    Ravagore 10
    Scythean 9
    Shredder 2
    Forsaken 2
    Shepherd 1
    Shepherd 1
    Spell Martyr 1
    Spell Martyr 1
    50

Got Blight Bringer to help with people trying to jam up your ravagores, and a scythean as a backup. Alternatively I could drop a heavy to get the BFS and some more solos/a raek.

Because of her feat, Saeryn is one of the few casters who really doesn't benefit from the presence of Ravagores. In fact, as you note, they actually compound Saeryn's primary weakness which is a lack of offensive buffs. You can't afford to be pillow-fisted with her, since she's not gonna do anything to alleviate that issue.

I don't agree with that. Say you're playing against somebody with a denial feat who out threats you. You need to buy the alpha with your feat, and then they counterfeat and you're in a bad position.

The idea here is you can sit back with Ravagores and let them sit on their feat till they turn blue in the face.

Are there really that many casters with strong denial feats that out-threat Saeryn?

pMorghoul, people like pDeneghra and eDenny to some degree, it depends on what they run (because oftentimes both bring shooting), eHaley spring immediately to mind. I'm sure there's more.

If you're trying to draw the alpha strike, why not use EVayl, then?

Jam with heavies and feat. I agree with he above regarding not needing ravagores.

Ugh, I still don't like buying the alpha with my feat against something like Denny or Haley. T.T

Those casters just suck I guess, gotta play through it just like everyone else =/

I agree Saeryn don't need them over the better choice of Scytheans.

I have come to Love Ravagores to the point of crutching on them but I cant figure out how they would fit in Saeryn's lists.
I woulda win next turn... I know you woulda win next turn... you always woulda win NEXT turn...

if you're going to spend 20 points on ravagores just because you don't out threat things, might as well instead spend 8 points on one seraph so that you DO out threat things.

I'm not opposed to dual Ravagores. I like how Breath Stealer means that those Ravagores can likely concentrate fire on a very slow target, all but ensuring it's removed from the game before it's served a purpose. Also, the feat in many ways compensates for the Ravagore Pillow-fists. They effectively have two turns to kill something, instead of a single turn. ALSO, they can just be walked out of melee without a free strike for another blast during feat.
