Default 50 pts Bad Religion T4 - Snapper Spam!

    Calaban +6
    Bone Swarm -4
    Bull Snapper -3
    Blackhide Wrastler -9
    Swamp Horror -8

    Bone Grinders(4) -2
    Gatormen Posse(5) -9
    Feralgeist -1
    Feralgeist -1

    Wrong Eye & Snapjaw -9
    Bull Snapper -2
    Bull Snapper -2
    Bull Snapper -2
    Bull Snapper -2
    Bull Snapper -2

Wrong Eye and his BG get AD and everything has Stealth first turn. 2nd Turn the Snappers Spiny Growth themselves and Charge something alive to either kill a few dudes or just to tie up lots of enemy damage (Feralgeists do their thing as well)while the rest of the army gets into position. Turn 3, surviving Snappers either keep eating or frenzy in the enemy's face.

That should give your "actual" army enough freedom to get into position for good Charges =)

What do y'all think? Any improvements that could be made?

That's awfully lot to manage. Frenzies rarely go in the way you would want also all it takes is one guy getting to Wrongeye dead to wipe a good chunk of your army.

Also how the heck are you going to control all that snappers when wrongeye has such low control area to even force it?

Well it of course depends on the situation... The few times I've tried it I just didn't boost at all... I just charged them in rolled normally ate something and went to sleep.

I think the much more important point with this sort of Spam is that you have 5 incredibly tough 2 point soloes clogging up your enemy's advance until your bigger, meaner Gators can get there.

The problem I always had with Calaban (and I think the reason why so many people think he's weak) is that he has trouble getting his stuff across the board alive cause he can't shield them like Barney and can't make them as tough as Maelok... But with Stealth 1st turn and 5 AD Snappers charging in 2nd turn, the opponent has around 70 hitpoints standing in front of his army. Sure you have to keep Wrongeye safe but he doesn't have to be too close... Snappers don't need to be forced to charge living models so CA isn't that important and against Cryx your chances are pretty bad anyway without Maelok.

Haven't done all the testing on the list but so far I find disposable 2 point Snappers utterly hilarious ^^

I'm interested to hear if this actually works... I think it could, a few times at least, but once your opponent gets wise to it I see a lot of Snappers dying. They are so fragile, even with Spiny Growth.

I don't have problems with Calaban that would require this kind of wacky list, I think he works just fine in Tier.

Feralgeists are 1 pt each, BTW, not 2 as you have listed here.

oops yeah you are of course correct... just copied it wrong though the list still stands

and yeah one Snapper is pretty damn fragile. 5 Snappers are like 2 full units of gatormen posse in terms of boxes

So far my games with this list have been pretty fun... even experienced opponents tend to be confused by that line of bull snappers at first... and you use that to kick them in the gibblies! hard!

I do have to say though I am thinking of swapping the Swamp Horror for a Spitter... the Horror is nice and all I'm just missing my turtle =( And I'm also thinking about swapping the Bone Swarm for a Snapper, dropping a Wrong Eye Snapper and getting a Witch Doctor instead... just to add that extra bit of beefiness to my Posse

But like 1/2 a Posse in damage output...

I love the Spitter on AD'd WE+SJ... so nice to get that extra head start with a slow moving shooter.

What's the role of the bone swarm in this list? I'm curious because I can't think of a good role for him to fill in the faction in general.

...not just with Blindwater, but what role does that thing have ANYWHERE? I LOVE the model, such a shame it is so impotent within the game.

To be fair, I've only checked out the model on battlecollege and via these forums. I think that with the Swamp Horror's animus it could be a pretty good infantry clearer. Aside from that, it seems to me that the Swarm's animus could be crazy when combined with Iron Fleshed Posse. Also, the warlock can use the animus to boost its own defense.

The Swarm's animus is self, so you have to get it hanging out pretty close to a Posse to get the melee penalty on anything hitting the Posse. If you're bringing the Bathtub Horror(and I love him with Calaban), you can just park him in front of your caster to protect your caster from ranged attacks. Really, Calaban has Occultation and Barney has Swamp Pits so do either of them need to worry about range? I could see maybe bringing one with Maelok but even that seems questionable. Oh how I wish that beast was better.
