Default Sell me on the gun carriage!

Well iv been really close to buying this thing when iv been to the store a couple of times.
I like the model and the theory of having 2 big aoes, I like my mortar in my pbutcher list atleast.

But then i think again... its 9 points for unboosted damage, maybe not usable in all commer list, also have no idea what I would drop for it and go home with no gun carriage.

So any success stories with it?
im mainly playing pbutcher, evlad, harkevich 35-50p battles.

I've only played it with pVlad, but I've actually liked it quite a bit myself (only played it once at 35 but it was fine, mostly at 50). What it wants most is an accuracy boost, but a damage boost is acceptable as well. Harkevich/eVlad can provide the former (Fortune/HoF) and pButcher/eVlad can provide the latter (Feat/HoF). In fact, I liked it enough to take it to L&L masters, where it rocked faces. I like it most because it provides two heavy power guns which will in most cases either kill what they hit or significantly slow it down. You definitely want some screening infantry if you can, but it makes an excellent replacement for a second jack in a list.

I would suggest waiting on buying it until we get more support for it. Maybe LVlad counts?

Two 4" AoE POW 14's are pretty awesome for 9 points, not to mention the Carriage's mobility and the rough terrain it generates. It needs no support to perform well, but it benefits from a lot of the support we do have. As a mobile huge base, its great for harassing a flank or guarding your caster. It's also a source of knockdown, but that's not its primary use. If all you're looking for is raw damage, then look elsewhere. If you want good damage, survivability, utility, control, and mobility, then the Gun Carriage is right up your alley.

If you were thinking of taking a Destroyer for ranged support, the Gun Carriage is a far better alternative in almost every situation, minus the inability to boost.

I used an old CD primed in black and painted it some arches and pasted a picture of a gun carrige over that and proxied it. Im goin for one today. But im not made of money so i dont think i will get 2 tho. This cash is comeing out of my collosal fund as im in the camp of unimpressed as of now so im gun carriageing it up. But use an old cd and a marker to make a proxy before you drop the cash on it.

This is kind of what my extremely inexperienced mind thought, too. I'm leaning towards picking it up once I get a few more of our "staples" (Winter Guard, IFP, Doom Reavers, things like that) plus a few new warcasters.

I've never regretting fielding/buying one , not a must use but I know I give it thought on most the lists I build. It gives anything that can't deal with rough terrain fits and makes a good mechanic shield, has good mobility and is cavalry so gets all the perks of them. Given the 3 caster you like I'd agree with what Rivenwyrm said you'll certainly get the most out of it with vlad though it will do fine with the other 2 but it would be a harder choice between the BE and a jack for them.

It is pretty deadly, I had one almost completely disable a Stormclad in one turn and came three boxes from one shoting eHaley with FFE on it.

Word of advice though. I feel like with the Mech UA, Colossols, and the Gun Carriage, Mechanics are becoming more and more of an auto include. Making sure the Gun Carriage gets to go for one more turn is pretty awesome as it can be pretty devastating.

I really like mine. I actually picked it up to fit into a very specific pButcher list, where the huge base that can't be moved or knocked down can prevent a lot of assassination tricks. I think it's a really good buy considering you're getting those super useful 4" AOEs on a highly mobile and durable platform. Add in the ability to trample and knock stuff down and I find it's a winner for me.

I like it with EIrusk, FFE is awesome and EIrusk terrain generation is very costly. With FFE the pow 14 gun can now hurt heavies and the AOE is deadly to all but the heaviest of infantry.

It would not be on my priority list of model to buy, but if you have the money it's not a bad purchase.

FOUR INCH AOE. Heh. Against some armies that alone is worth taking it. Add in that the AOEs are rough terrain for a round that makes it auto include in everything 35 points and up. It has bigger aoe and same POW as bombards AND leaves the rough terrain AND has pathfinder AND gets speed 7 AND can trample then shoot AND can do ride by attack to move shoot then move back AND it is has auto knockdown on the mount JUST HITTING (most are "damage" to proc) AND it gets +2 on the charge, AND with FFE from eIrusk it is KEEEEERRRR----RAZIE!!

    Hope that helps.

Haha, thats a cool conversion! But actually like the horses, think it will look great with the drakhun and some mow on table.
If I played 50p more often Im pretty sure I would buy it right away. Anyway, i guess its time to shop!

I think I may try to mod one like that but I may possibly put some steam stacks on top in place of the spot where the winterguard guy goes.

When making your choice on if to take it, think "do I want something that can trample 10" through rough terrain and then drop a pie plate on the enemy?". If the answer is yes, then you will want it. Nothing else in Khador can do that (in a single caster format).

I'm planning to have mine being pulled by the Rhulic Basher. Yeah it's going to make no sense background wise, but hot damn if it it's not exciting.

I recently fielded my Gun Carriage in a game, after having it just sit and collect dust for months. And I couldn't have been happier with it's performance. Taking out enemy mechanics with blast damage, knocking down a warjack, and basically just performing as an amazing support piece.

While it is tempting to throw Fire for Effect on it, I personally prefer to throw Tac. Supremacy on it. With a ride by attack, plus that extra move at the end of my turn? It gets where it needs to, and just acts all boss. It's got such great utility, and I see myself fielding it more and more.

Yes, it's going to die when things mass on it. But what doesn't?
