Default How to deal with tons of infantry?

My main opponent runs tons of infantry and can get his caster to def 19. How do you guys deal with this. I'm thinking ravagores under eLylyth. this will give me templates that dont care about high def infantry as well as a good feat to clear some extra out and stealth to negate some of his shooting. I really dont see melee infantry will get there because of his ranged unit although an army of striders could put out some hurt on those steelheads. they could also wreck a def 19 caster with cra. Tell me how you guys would deal with this. His ranged unit are the merc nyss.

More detail to who and you both play would be kind of important. But LoE tend to pick off a few infantry models a turn. However, the faction has really strong infantry denial via Scather, Breath Stealer, Blight Bringer, Despoiler, Eruptions of Ash etc. Then the infantry removal tends to be a bit more scarce.

If you really wanna kill high def infantry, run Bethayne. >_>

Yeah depends on casters you have, what faction they have.

Lately I've been playtesting Pvayl + proxied naga, and Typhon thats SUPER **** to have his sprays ignore all their def/armor boosting spells, attacks with chiller and thats some dead infantry.

I love pVayl for this. Last game I had on vassal vs Menoth I had my Raptors with chiller on them walk up, shoot some errants, and light cav near some more errants. Then I had pVayl walk up, slipstream my scythean + leash typhon and incite. Typhon went and sprayed the errants who were near to my Raptors (making them def12 cause pSevvy), and the scythean went ape on a Reckoner. Who didn't get to enliven because there was a raptor behind it.

Moral of the story though was I managed to kill about 8 errants without ever putting myself in a bad position. <3 Incite and Typhon.

Lylyth 1 & bethayne deal with high def infantry well, saeryn & reak also rock infantry
lylyth 2 + ravagors, striders, death stalkers, + annysa

    Vayl 1....nuff said
    Vayl 2 obliteration spam
    Kallus & dark guidance infantry

The options are there. Using them right is the key

Angelii are remarkably good at clearing infantry. Reach and Overtake with five attacks is great. With either Vayl they even better (accuracy with Vayl1, Purification and Refuge with Vayl2).

I always enjoy it whenever i manage to get a scythean with pVayl to charge a heavy next to some infantry. With chiller and incite, the scythean is MAT 10, P+S 19. That kills anything dead.

I like Saeryn and blight bringer, a Harrier, and Incubi in the back arc. But you'll get more specific advice if you let us know the list you're up against.

forsaken work quite well vs high def infantry mobs. pow 8 might not look like much but its enough to snap most def focused infantry in half. just manage fury a turn earlyer to make sure you are loaded for beat on the turn where you can get a forsaken into position.
