Only thing Ive heard is itis D6 based, and it will supposrt Warmachine and Hordes, as for actually anything else dont really know, they did say in the video the 3rd or 4th book would allow players to explore warlocks, so my thoughts would be yes there will be classess.

All characters choose from one of very few archetypes, and then add careers which include new abilities. Combat will be based on the D6 mechanic from the Warmachine and Hordes rules, with characters having similar derived stats like MAT, RAT, DEF, and ARM. Details have been coming little by little in No Quarter Magazine.

Presumably it would look like this:

    Archetype: Gifted
    Careers: Paladin, Warcaster

    Dear Scrutator Abbitorix,

does commanding my Templar to give me a thorough thrashing still count as self-flagellation?

    Incendiarily yours,

As I understand the game now, I'll compare to dnd.
First pick a race and a base archtype, This opens up career options which are like classes. You get 2 careers, so a bard would be a rogue/sorcerer in dnd terms. These choices also build you base stats. So no point buys or die rolls for basic stats. You do get points to improve your stats and skills at chargen. The skills you can take are based on careers, you have mat rat and str but there are substats that aren't in warmahordes. There will be no levels so i imagine character improvement will be points every so often for skill and stat increases. The rolls are base 2d6 like the wargame, and there will be a boosting mechanic so you can roll 3d6 but it hasn't been spoiled how it works. Your characters have a life sprial instead of hit points and the only thing i know of it is that it is similiar to warbeast health.
I'm sure i got a few things messed up but the game isn't out so its not critical.

Yeah, the mix-n-match two careers idea is great, as it basically allows you to customise your type of character, rather than just taking a set class, and trying to get the right upgrades for it to morph it into the character you're trying to play. Gives a far wider variety of possible character builds when starting out, and then you can add extra careers as your character develops.

It's also fun to imagine what Careers notable Warmachine characters might be. Caine might be a gifted gunmage/warcaster, while Arlan Strangeways might be an Intelligent Mechanic/Artificer with a little bit of Jack Marshal. Eiryss might be a skilled Mage Hunter/Scout, Rutger Shaw perhaps a Skilled Jackmarshal/warrior, Taryn di la Rovissi perhaps a Gifted gunmage/something.

Theoretically what combination would Nemo be? He's a warcaster, a wizard, presumably a hugely talented arcane mechanic, and a military officer and I suspect a noble. How would he be handled?

He's pretty old, and apparently you can have up to 4-5 careers in IKRPG (if I recall the article correctly). He could be a Gifted Warcaster/Mechanic/Officer/Mage or something similar. You couldn't just start off with a nemo-esque character, you'd really have to build up to him over a long time.

That's not a statement we've ever made. The game draws upon the core mechanics of WARMACHINE and HORDES but is not meant to be compatible with our wargames.

This makes me a happy Spud. Too much cross-pollination between the RPG and the wargames diminishes both.

That said, GM's like myself will find a way to make the conversions work, simply because we're lazy and the faction books provide us with a large potential pool of pre-made NPC's. Plus, Warmachine gives a nice, streamlined, mass battle ruleset.
It's not a question of win or lose, it's a question of whether or not you want to have friends afterwards.

I can't remember which, but either DC or EB said that "Players familiar with both systems will be able to easily convert characters between the IKRPG and Warmachine/Hordes systems." in an interview earlier this year. I think that's where the "Supports both systems" line of thought came from.

Maybe you're thinking of this video here:

Around 1:30 DC says that the rules will be "familiar."

No, definitely not the same video. The one I was referring to was a Q&A from a Con earlier this year.
