It may not be ultra-competitive, but who here has had experience with fielding a PURE cyclops list?
Clearly, there are limitations to what the list could do, if run with only Cyclops as the beasts.
The Brute is a well-known bodyguard for our small-base warnouns, and should be able to take a decent amount of punishment before falling down.
Savages, with prescience and future sight, are excellent soldiers for the army, and allows the user to really have a careful plan of when it's best to boost, and when it is best to buy extra attacks.
The Shaman doesn't have a lot to work with, sadly. Perhaps he can spam fate walker for a few people, maybe even give a safeguard when the emergency presents itself. the Blade animus is another excellent way to get rid of any DEF buffs that could cause the Cyclops to suffer, or the ARM that may keep our POW13 down.
MK, the Cyclops big-boss is a strong addition for not only his massive damage potential, but for his power as a chieftain - giving 1-2 extra THR and 2-3 extra CMD is no laughing matter, and fate walker being useable by the Shaman isn't to be sneered at. The Raider, our newest one-eye, is a terrific ranged support unit.
The raider can easily do damage to the tougher beasts out there, and will be able to take out pesky solos, stealth or otherwise, and can lay down fire from 14 inches away, with an effective RAT 7 with aiming.
So there's the beast overview, which you all know (likely better than I). But! The list has a lot of character, and a lot of love in potential.
The Lock to use? I'd go with either pMakeda or pHexeris. Makeda is an excellent general for any army, beasts or units, she has a lot of muscle to throw around. And savagery combined with fatewalker is nothing short of hyperspeed. Carnage helps us to keep up our MAT in those emergency DEF situations. pHexeris for two words: Soul Slave. Death March is another fantastic addition to the spell list, and using the Soul Slave as an arcnode, we can get that Death March out there, far.
As for solos and units, I wouldn't know what to take, and have a lot to consider there. But I love cyclops, and the character they represent as an army of giant, middle-eastern inspired, samurai.
So allow me to ask the community as well: How would YOU build a Cyclops list. No other warbeasts allowed. And how would you build it to be viable in semi-competitive?
