    Default Xerxis 50pt, trying to find my feet

    Hi all,

    I have played warmachine for a while (Cygnar) and have decided to branch in to a second, this time hordes, faction; and have chosen Skorne. This means right now I am trying to find both some casters, and some lists for them, that I like.

    The main reason i want to do this at this point is that funds are relatively limited so i would like to have some set goals (at the moment 2 50pt lists) to collect towards at any give time.

    My first exploration is in to Xerxis, one of the casters I immediately liked.

    I am honestly not happy with the list, but I find even at 50 pts there is so much I want to take that knowing what I should take is my issue ! Comments and advice are greatly appreciated.

    Paspinall.

    Tyrant Xerxis
    * Basilisk Krea
    * Tiberion
    * Titan Gladiator
    Cataphract Cetrati (full)
    Cataphract Cetrati (full)
    Paingiver Beast Handlers (min)
    Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew
    Agonizer
    Tyrant Rhadiem

    Total 50pts.

    A suggestion. Outside of xerxis, there are very few times you would ever want to take two units of cetrati. On the tabletop, they are also vulnerable to weapon master infantry shredding them on the charge. I'd suggest dropping one of these units for a unit of max nihilators and.. Marketh?

    Nihilators will be used in a lot of skorne lists and they make a great screening unit running up front with def ward.

    Marketh is kind of important for xerxis, as he is a low fury caster and he needs all the help he can get. Xerxis can help him by saving him 2-3 fury a turn.. The difference between life and death with an enemy assassination.

    You need more elements in the list that can work outside of the brick. I'd drop one unit of Cetrati and add Nihilators, Ferox (what I run), or Arcuarii. The swamp gobbers are just going to get in the way of Martial Discipline. Marketh is nice with Xerxis, but not manditory, if you can fit him in, do, if not, the list will still run well.
