OK boys and girls. I think we all have a decent idea of what our new caster does. He is mobile, can hit like a wall of bricks, makes vengers hit like walls of bricks by just being there and has a very interesting spell list along with the big daddy of interest, Warpath.
Thing is, what lists to use with him? At the moment since I'm trying to get back my footing, I'm limiting myself to 35 pointer matches and well, if you want full vengers and a node to get that force hammer where needed, you are already a third down on your list, and this is without some of those sexy jacks we are famous for and something to trigger warpath out of. So here comes the first round of questions. At 35 points, to venger or not to venger? What jacks make him tick? To node or not to node? and most important of all, who does the warpathing?
From the get go, I'd probably at least go with a min unit of vengers since the passive is so awesome for them, but it's still undeniable that they tend to die quickly if focused on, so they would have to be taken with care. Initially I am inclined to go with a node, simply because force hammer is a huge assassination setup spell and seems like a waste to not get the full use out of it, it would also help with the feat hotswapping and getting that deathsentence out there, along with enliven and warpath, the node has a hope in hell to get some distance. Jacks? well, points are already tight with 8 going to min vengers and node, so that leaves me 27 and very tempted with going with the usual duo of vanquisher and reckoner who both give some nice ranged support and loves themselves some warpath.
And now the hard question, warpath triggerer, most times it's preferable to have a ranged model take care of that but we are sorely lacking on ranged precision with enough pow to garuantee kills. Errants aren't something you can actually count on to do the job, and although our jacks are awesome at it, we want to be able to get that reckoner in position and not cry because he is the only one capable to do it reliably. We are also missing some meatshields to keep all our big gribblies all decent like. My initial idea is going with zealots with monolith since those AOE pile up quick and can do heavy damage, but the moment they go in, add a choir, a vassal and we only have 1 point left and that's without counting on their limited threat... There's also the option of using enlivened gunshots which can be a good middle ground, but still not flexible enough for my taste.
Basically, the Intercessor seems a bit hard to fit at the 35 level, so any other suggestions and counterarguments to my brainstorming?
